Triple Overlap. most likely the gayest thing ive come across in staredit history... is there a simple and easy way to do it or is it some catastrophic mutation of evil that cannot be stopped?

I think it is a "atastrophic mutation of evil that cannot be stopped". I think there were a few (few = 10+)topics on this...Just got look for some. There sould be some formulas on triple overlapping. Why can't we just stick with 2? Or just leave it be and just have a single word. Ohh wait overlapping is "cool"

i guess there aint any shortcuts, but a way to not waste as many spaces after the end of the word(for map name, forces, unit names and other places with a letter limit), is to put a invisible tag and then the biggest letter(s) u can find, for example W... this make it easier to at least not waste a lot of letters in the end, so u can use more letters/spaces in the other places where u need spaces...

Um...KpL_Yo,

I did not understand what you are talking about. This topic was about triple overlapping. Not asking how to save space on the unit names forces etc.

If you do not try to save space, you will run out... unless its a small word... And i think there is a character that is lke a tab...

[back][color].[color][text]
[front][color][text]
[back][color][text]

and then add some spaces

it works for me like 98% of the time

once you get down triple laps... experiment with 4x and even 5x laps... trust me... its possible... use the same formula or a add tabs in it... I did a 7x once with 1 letter... R =P

I've never seen a 7x I have seen the 6x that Pickleweezle did like a year ago.

Ow comeone guys... who is waiting for more overlapping censored.gif in missionbriefings etc. Some colors and maybe 1 or 2 overlapping are sometimes handy to keep a long tekst good looking, etc. Stop make overlapping, flashing, exploding, flying, moving tekst and make good original maps...

and, eerhm, I ment "yes I know I can only use 256 SWITCHES" instead of triggers blushing.gif blushing.gif ... happily I'm not THAT stupid happy.gif (otherwise I wouldn't give myself 'advanced map making skill' now whould I ? happy.gif)

I guess 3x overlapping would be neat, but any more than that would be way too overboard.

I figured I'd say this, I find I almost always have to add spaces after the back mark or before as well as after everything if it is something like a Mission Briefing or Objectives. I use to get really POed when it wouldn't do it right even with the invisible tabs and stuff, it would go ont the next line, so I thought this would be useful for some people....

wouldnt a seven times stack look ugly? i think it would be insanely hard to read

I have seen it a few times with >2, like in bounds. They made boxes or something and overlapped it to make a solid read background to the text on top.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2004-12-01 at 22:46:47
so you could use the blocks to make alternate background colors... nice
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Turin on 2004-12-02 at 18:40:13
Yeah it made a good effect, but became an eyesore because they all werent the same size of background or color. Just one of those things to use in moderation.
