Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Detecting Game Speed

I've read a lot of posts about the controversy between death counts and waits with music triggers. It seems (to me anyways), that deathcounts work better if done right, but they are screwed up if you use a different game speed. So... i was wondering if there was a way to detect the game speed, by creating untis and no matter the spped have it stop after 1 second and do it by the amount of units or something, so that a music trigger could be made to work right with any game speed.

Is this possible at all.... I don't know what doesn't change timewise depending on game speed, so i was wondering if anyone knew a way to do it.

Possible through the use of a unit moving across the map and a timing, in the form of Elasped time should do it.

but Coko(wow wtf happened to your name), if multiplayer is the same as singleplayer then when you change the game speed doesnt it also affect the unit speed?

i don't think triggers work on game speed, i believe it was on the little hints at the top

But there has to be something not affected by game speed that can be counted somehow... I hope. I just thought it would make things easier.

I think death count addition are not affected by game speed.
I know waits are definately not.

I would just tell people to use the game speed I made it for or dont play it at all.

I believe the Preserve Trigger is affected by game speed, death counts are not. But if you are adding death counts they will be affected because of the Preserve Trigger.

I belive the "NEO" (Next Ending Occurance: time that triggers stop fireing before they fire up again) varies depending on the game speed, but im not sure. I know waits do not and therefore unless your using death counts without hyper triggers they are not effected ither.

You could detect the game speed pretty much by using waits to detect how far a unit has moved or something like that. Like order a fast unit to move wait 2 seconds and depending on where it is after 2 seconds would depend on what the game speed was.
