This is a very controversal issue that i think may cause alot of discussion. Do you think aliens or ghosts exist? Some might think I'm crazy, but I beleive I have seen at least 4 ghosts in my life-time. (No I don't do drugs -.-)
So: Aliens / Ghosts - Real or not?

I personally believe that there are entities (non human, possible dead humans... idk) out there and on earth... aliens have been known to be in egyption writings and ghosts are seen everywhere (http://www.ghoststudy.com) Google stuff about aliens...

i really dont know if they exist or not but i would like to believe they do and mabie ghosts are a form of punishment for some people all's i know is that if i had the choice i want to be damned to an eternity on this earth than go to heaven or hell

I don't know how much I believe in ghost...

However I believe that yes there probably is other life out there. Have they ever been to earth, maybe not.
But the universe is such a vastly large place that even if the chances for the first living orginams on earth to be created was extremely low that somewhere it would have also happen.

So mainly I don't believe in ghosts, but "aliens" yes, but hesitant on wether or not that have been to earth.

i was reading this book, and it said some guy got abducted by aliens from Venus, and they told him that humans exist because they were breed with Apes and Venusians. Also, a book i have read about aliens (the only book i actually like) is called Witnessed, author is budd hopkins, look into it, it made me beleive... sorta

I DEFINATLY BELIEVE IN GHOSt. Mainly because my aunts old house was haunted.(no im not bsing you) I had encountered some things and they told me about MAny things. Also my mom works at a nursing home and has seen them while she was going up the stairs with her best friend. Like , people who had just died they saw.

Aliens probably .. I am not so positive. It would be cool if they were friends with use if they existed. It would suck if they hated us.

Well, since these topics really don't amuse me, I'll just say one thing.

Don't multiply entities unnecessarily when trying to come to a conclusion about something, start with what is already known, and seek alternate explainations before jumping to your theory.

Distort, I would question the validity of that book.

You do have a point there Drunken, always try to disprove a theory with reasons/tests!

What's to 'believe' about aliens? Statistically, there IS extra terrestrial life out there... Will we ever make contact? Probably not within the next few million years. How can you not think there's life out in the INFINITE universe?
But ghosts... that's a whole different matter. I've never thought there would be any after-life. My idea goes like this; you die, you are born as anyone from any time in history. Sadly, there's absoutley no way to prove, or disprove, an after-life.

There's so much stuff in this reality that we'll never know about. Some of the things we do know about, most people would rather not.

Yes I believe there are 'ghost' and stuff, but properbly not like the most people believe in ghosts. I believe there are lots of spirits/demons/ghost/whatever who are showing thereself to humans for one reason or another. I myself have (luckily) never seen anything like that thou.

I believe that too... Im quite skeptical about the validity of ghosts... i think they are demons, trying to discourage the believers (Christian), and encourage nonbelievers to stay athiest/other religeon.
My mom had an 'encounter' with a ghost twice, once was when she was living on indian burial ground and on a chair that was normally hit by the moonlight outside her room, that she could see, wasnt, and it was rockign... but noone was on the chair
And the other one was when my grampa died, she saw a bright light go down the hallway into one of the kids' rooms (My sister, and I) but it wasnt either of us, nor my dad... so

Omg... alright, a while ago, we moved into a new house and didn't bring over everything yet. My bed wasn't put together so I was sleeping on a mattress on the floor in my room. One night, I wake up, turn around, and there is this big black dog snaring at me. I couldn't get up and run, for one, it was in the door like 5 feet away from me, and two, I just don't think I could have. So, unnaturally, I just turned the other way and closed my eyes... and eventually drifted off. I don't know how that was possible...

But then sometime later... I was down stairs doing laundry with my sister. The washing machine/dryer had it's own seperate room with the furnace and all that... The door slowly creeped open and the same dog stuck his head inside. I turned to my sister in horror and was like, did you see that? She did, and when I looked back, it was gone. We ran upstairs.

There is no "reasonable" explaination for that . That house was haunted. My mom and sister both saw this person walking in our hallway the same night... they just thought it was a fragment of their imagination but later said something to each other and their stories matched each other.

My mom and her sisters also have stories of when their dad died.

I kinda believe in aliens, but I consider those people who claim to have actually see aliens to be slightly...off-balance. As for ghosts, I don't believe in them.

Personally for one,
I think anyone who thinks there isn't a such thing as an Alien are complete fools. I mean, the infinity has to yield somethin'' even IF it is some parasitic fly race.... As for Ghosts, people who don't believe in Ghosts are people who a) haven't had the experience b) are atheists or c) ... don't know jus' wanted to have an a/b/c sequence -.-

like most things the ideal of it is in the mind of the perceiver.

And yes I believe in both.

I believe in ghosts and other spiritual entities, but I also believe that most alien abduction cases are just people lying for attention, or that they experienced something else (like, perhaps, active sleep paralysis), and then mislabeled it.

For the Alien Abuduction thing... I don't believe any of that was true... But, it could be, there sure is a hell of a lot of stories.. but then again those stories could all have been derived from one person's experiance, and modified to the other's liking..

Wouldnt it be non-athiests who would beleive in ghosts? Since christians believe that we go directly to heaven or hell rather than stay here for a bit...

Probably just a typo, but yeah... christianity says you get judged the instant you die.... so ghosts would have to be demon entities... or something such as.... freaky to think that dog was a demon...

im sure aliens exist i mean the odds are in infinite space there is an infininte chance earth could be just one of a million. and when i die you guys will know if ghosts exist ill see to that..

My toaster broke and wouldn't work this morning, and I was like "double-u tee eff!" Since no alternate explaination can account for this event, the act of invisible pink fairies is verfied by process of elimination. Some explaination is better than no explaination at all, right?

So I guess there was no evil demon dog? It was just... weird energy? I'd love an alternate explaination of seeing the same dog twice and having my sister see it once also. I would have loved it more when I actually lived at the house.
"Oh no... that dog wasn't some type of co-existing entity... it was <insert explaination here"

Evolution can't possibly support ghosts and the like, right? What would happen if you saw a ghost? Numerous times? What would you think? Would you consider evolution might be wrong or would you force another explaination on yourself? I do not intend to turn this into another evolution vs creationist thread... I just want to know what if.

Well you could believe that coz we're adapting we adapted that much that we can 'escape' death and become ghost and stuff....

I don't know, but a qualified investigator might, and once he finds out the cause, I would bet it's natural phenomena that he could reproduce.

On the other hand, absence of evidence isn't evidence for the absent. Thunder and lightning? Not enough data to determine the true explaination, so it's must all be Zeus. How else would you explain it?


Uh, how would seeing a ghost contradict the theory of evolution? Likewise, how does the theory of evolution contradict the existence of ghost?
