As you all have known, I have a reputation for creating bounds...
well because of all of you thinking that I cannot create a map other then a bound... I created a challenge for myself, which is dependant on your decisions...
Choose which type of map you would like to see me make, and from it, all the names who have contributed to the production of this map shall be placed in the map itself...
Im attempting to create a map that has quality, fun, appeal, complexities, replayability, strategy...
Any comments or such can and will be taken into account...
Im attempting to create history here...
Help me help you...
Id hate to see you dissapointed from my maps... so im working on quality assurance...
(If a map type youd like to see created and isn't in the poll, just add a post.)
I say strategy. Something like snowball wars in which you only get certain units and must use them effectively in small groups. Just don't completely copy snowball wars.
Red2Blue, as a inspired fan

nvm as a friend
I say you should put your skills to the test and make a RPG with a good story-line

there needs to be more RPGs!
TEC, Red2Blue made the obnoxiously hard Kingdom Hearts bound.
I say don't make a rpg. Few people have completed them, and few were successful. Complex rpgs are frowned at from many people and they aren't popular on b.net. Starcraft just isn't the best means of making a rpg. They don't receive much attention and are usually dull, long, boring and controversial for a lot of people (with a few exceptions). Their main gameplay can't be bent and it's not worth spending the long time to make it when you can go for a simple mini game that most people enjoy.
Hah... maybe I shouldn't say I have a reputation...
Play one of my maps TG...
Ull see why theres reason to remember Red2Blue...
Hopefully you will find a bound that you really like...
Yup, I say make a good RPG, simple to understand, if its too complexe people will only play it once. If it's simple to understand and it shows it has been made from an experience map maker, even if they loose people will still play it. Like Quest Open RPG people keep on playing it even if they lost the last game. So if you could make a map even bettter than this one it will be amazing.
P.S. Don't forget to put anti-cheat triggers or else the player will finish it in single player and won't play it anymore. I gess you know how to do this, by in case you don't I think there is a tutorial somewere here on SEN.
Hope this map one day, I you make a good RPG , of course you will!

I voted for RPG, but maybe make a different style RPG, maybe mess around with different styles of gameplay and such...Hell even go for it where the objective is to make a line of kills and such..
As much fun a RPG would create they are hard to play on b.net as was started earlier.
I think a good strategy with many different options of how to go about in beating it could create a good and at the same time complex game. Also with variations of ways of beating it you can make some ways harder then others but more rewarding.
only thing i hate about rpgs are
its all teh same
RECEIVE QUEST, DISCOVER, DO QUEST, REPEAT PROCESS
i don't think that there are enough good defenses out there.
I saw stratagy... Mabe make something like Starwars battlefront and you can chose a place to respawn and stuff... Make some games not like snowball wars... Make a team game mabe you can use the game AE as an example of a team game only have them agenst eachother and you can switch between your players on your team... while having the computers follow you and have special abilities...

Well aren't you MODEST (sarcasm)
Kingdom Hearts Bound, yuck, maybe you made some good bounds but that would not be one of them. But seriously, make either a decent RPG or a minigame map. You can even translate some your boundmaking "skillz" to your RPG if you do it right
What screwed said was true. I think you should make a simple but neatly set up RPG with a good storyline and is different and people will play.
Don't use AE as an example of a team-based game, that map wasn't any good. There are MUCH better ways of doing virtually everything in it.
I will have to go with an RPG too, most people don't really know what they want in an RPG, they just like the idea of them. It's hard to make a good RPG, because it needs to be simple, yet complex, full of story, yet not boring, with fun combat and what not. That might be a pretty big jump though, since making a good RPG is about the hardest thing any map maker can do.
I voted an Rpg.
If you don't go for Rpg, I say Defense.
"well because of all of you thinking that I cannot create a map other then a bound... I created a challenge for myself, which is dependant on your decisions..."
I've never seen your Bounds, and even if I had, I wouldn't have thought you're incapable of doing other maps. If the question had been presented to me, I would have said I think that you could probably make a decent non-Bound map.
Anyways, if you want your Rpg to be popular, than you have an advantage over many other Rpg makers; you already have a heavy reputation as A) one of the best) and B)the best) bound maker, depending on who you ask, with, as far as I can tell, few exceptions, though personally I've never seen your bounds.
Why not a strategy game?
How about make it like...well you know how like commanders use miniature figures as the armies then move them to a hostile place on a board that look likes a map?
Why not do that then after you move to the battle and see if you can find out a way to take the base or defend it.
RPG RPG RPG (defense?! are u nuts?!) RPG RPG RPG (SPAM LOL)
I suggest an RPG because......the rpgs out now suck (most of em) I liked ur bounds r2b they were pretty nicely made. some of best bounds ive seen. And ya im interested in seein wut u can do outside the bound department

My vote goes for strategy. Personally i think that RPGs are boring.. not to mention incredibly long and drawn out. Defenses are fun (maybe do one of those if not a strategy) and mini-games are.. well.. idk.. they are just mini-games

RPGs have had problems with becoming popular for many reasons...
some of them include:
-------------------------
-repetetive quests...
-LONG dls...
-LONG games...
-complexity issues (too simple / too hard to understand)...
-dissapointing storylines...
-dissapointing endings...
-no rewards for completion of the map...
-replayability is low (beat it once, and you're done)...
-fun factor is limited to certain actions and things you can do...
-difficulty? (too hard at times... or play is too simplistic)
-hundreds of cheats...
-player vs computer (becomes boring... as 7vs1c melee games)...
-no challenge to the player (i.e. Defense, challenges players to not die and to build defense well)...
-cannot gain experience in gaming (i.e. bounds teach unit movement and latency)...
-no strategies to use, only one way to win...

Sala dude, just be quiet. They closed his topic on AE: After Earth so that this flaming of yours would stop. If you have a problem with his map start a new post under
garbage and talk about it.
ADDITION: In any case I think you should make a map that involves some sort of originality. You are great at bounds to my extent of knowledge so you could use some bounding element in it involving explosions or timing, but incorperate new map ideas into it.
I didn't choose a type because all of which are way, way, way overcreated.
If you could make one that teaches you some strategy stuff and can be played over and over without being repetative (multiple possible endings or something), I would be very happy.

Well I'd say RPG because there haven't been much good ones. Try making one that Fable tried to do except I heard in Fable that you get the same ending on both sides so try make it different stories. Never make it good versus evil cause thats just lame.
Strategy as in a puzzle game... with possible randomized boss puzzles... i like puzzles.. and make a co-op mode and a single mode.
