I decided to make a map with a Christmas theme, and I came up with Reindeer Rally. In this map, you have to create a certain present, and race over to town to deliver it to a house. The type of present changes with each house. There's around 50 houses, and around 5 types of presents (I probably will add in more presents).
The first player to deliver a present to the selected house gets a point. The winner is the person with the most points when all the houses have gotten presents.
Ok, the map is getting some good progress. I'm working on all the triggers (there's a whole lot of 'em) for all the houses and such.
One problem though, is that the game is pretty slow. Going back and forth from your base, the North Pole, and the town is pretty boring. I'm going to make it more interesting and add in some obstacles to dodge.
I'm going to let the players pick how many points they have to get to win. They'll have choices from 10 (short game), 25 (medium game), and a full 50 (long game). Or something like that.
And, i'll probably throw in a looping Christmas .wav for good measure.
Sounds cool, give me a message, though pm or i play mostly on uswest

Make the song jingle bells, its about 3-4 mins long so will not get to bord with it.
I'm either going to use jingle bells or sleighride as the music. I'll probably end up going with sleighride.
Hmm.. Well I would say, why not jus' make it support 3 songs? I mean.. Jingle bells.. is a deadly song cause once its in your head it won't leave until its nearly Summer.. By the 3 songs of course I mean Christmas songs.. like Jingle Bell Rock

Good idea. I may do that.
I could see the songs getting borring quickly, so why not add a option that allows a player to turn off the music?

Well, obviously that would be an option.. and even if it wasn't most players have enough sense to ctrl+s -.- if it bugs them that horribly.
But most people fel weird without the other sound and I don't think the average B.net person will know about ctrl+s. perhaps just have a message say press ctrl+s to turn off sound so they don't stop it for everyone if they want to hear it.
It might be a big dl with 3 songs....
.. Thats why you have seperate triggs for the people, so that each person can turn off their own music instead of others..
And the three songs should HOPEFULLY, be compressed and loopt well..

In some games having sounds are a must - if you don't have your sound turned on you might miss a hint.

Have you heard of "current player", by chance?

And do you know what "current Player" means?
First of all, who are you talkin' to? And secondly yes I do.. its bein used constantly in my rpg right now...
I think 1 song is fine, people woulnd't wanna spend alot of time downloading a song if they happen to choose the medium or fast game you know?
Just make sure it plays Jingle Bells while you're racing, that would be tight and attractive.
