Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Creating a unit with burrowing?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2004-12-05 at 17:47:35
Is it possible to create a unit when u make a zergling burrow? Like once u burrow the zergling it trasnforms into a burrowed lurker? I can't think of a way since modifying location elevation won't work since burrowed unit and unburrowed unit are considered to be on the same elevation.

Don't think it is possible because there is no "underground" location.

It's imposible since locations can't modify underground level and you can't make unitproperties a condition.

BUT, low ground, on the dirt on the badlands can be used to activate a trigger if a zerg burrows. So, I guess it could be possible... I would make a trigger right now to show how to do this but I am too lazy right now. I might make the triggers later...

There was a thread on this exact thing a while ago. I made this map.

SA_Max71, burrowing doesn't change the elevation of a unit. How burrowing really works is by playing the burrowed graphics, setting the unit to be invisible, and removing the ability to move.

I disagree with you. Because my post doesn't really have anything to do with this topic, I will pm you why I think I am correct.

i think if you burrow, you use the lower elevation location,

You know what, the question has already been answered. I posted a map with an exact example of what to do.

That and im tired of people argueing weathor or not a location can detect if a unit is burrowed. Just test it people.
