Its definately not the server, the forums are goin blazing fast here.

Suggestions: Uninstall patches and what not for internet explorer.

Download "Ad-aware 6.0" and remove any possible spyware.

Reformat your comp.

Hmm...mostly likely this is due to spyware and viruses. Check your computer for viruses after the spyware check just in case.

Defrag your comp.

Viruses may be a possibility, except most of them are made to damage data - Not slow your computer down (which they may do anyway for a day or two).

Defrag is extremely unlikely. All that does is organizes programs on your HD so they run faster. I.E.

1=Starcraft
2=Maps
3=Windows
4=Word

New:

Basically it puts the things that belong together, together.

You'd be surpised how often a simple defrag can fix a lot of problems though, while for sometimes unknown reasons at the time... And its not like its hard to do. You just tell it to go and leave it.

I accually would be surprised if it did fix any problems.

If you have any diagnostic utilities (i.e. Norton Systemworks), run it also.

Yoshi, defrag also fixes broken fragments of code in programs that might cause errors and freezes. His IE problem might be caused by one, but I doubt it.

That only happens rarely, and most of the time its caused by abuse of computer (too many shutdowns improperly when the computer is busy, etc). Its never a typical problem.

You can try to reinstall IE. Usually, that brings up a dialogue that gives you options such as "Install IE, Repair IE, Remove IE" or something like that. Just run the repair tio see if it fixes anything.

I definitely don't like Norton. It just doesn't work...
