or, the best way of making a sig is using:
1. Microsoft Paint
2. Photoshop
3. Paintshop
each of them have disabilities that the others make up for, when you'll learn how to use em' and all of their features you'll be able to make really cool siggies.
to do that, you can either download tutorials from the net, read the help files in every program, or learn yourself like everybody does!

good luck.

it's not what you can do, it's how many time it takes you to do.
you can also say: what can you do in photoshop that you can't do in mspaint?
you can do anything related to graphics in both (except animotions - this is where you need ImageRDY or Animotion Shop), but there are things that take less time in each.
it takes less time to do gamma effects in photoshop, and it takes less time to make a shining toolbar in paint.

P.S. about getting those programs, you already have mspaint on the comp and to get photoshop and paintshop you need to go to a store anf buy em'.
or pay thru the net... but I don't suggest you doing that...

We should have a pinned topic on what Graphics makers to use... warn all else who makes a topic

why? what graphics program to use is subjective...
adobe psp and paintshop aren't the only two image programs...

You're an idiot. Paint cant compare to the power of Photoshop, and its not just the time it takes to make stuff. Paint has very low color restrictions, it cant save or open even half as many different file types that PS can open. Photoshop has Layers and Opacity, you can save a file and reedit it later without having to edit the whole picture. The only thing Id suggest paint for is doing sprite work and thats only if you're unexperienced in PS.

Paint is less resource eating smile.gif so it might take you a while to do smth in PS
