A Pirates Life RPG
Gameplay
- 3 Players - Competitive RPG
- Game Starting: You chose the game difficulty, Mortality, Vision, Intro and your Captain
- Quests: Different and Random quests depending on your character (You can also pick versions of quests, like which side you are on for the quest)
- Boasting: You can boast when the quest begins, getting more cash from the quest
- Day/Night System - Clock, this enables darkness at night and affects quests as well
- Compass System - There will be a compass which tells you where you are in the map, this will help in quests
- Stealing/Theft - You'll be able to steal items from shops, but if you're caught you can be fined
- Bounties - Bounties are placed on random people, and killing them will earn you a reward
- Death - You will be marooned on an island for a certain amount of time, taken to jail, or you start off at the town (Upon death you lose XP/Items/Crew Memers/Money)
- Unique Armor System - Which allows you to buy stronger armor from shops, therefore there will only be weapon upgades
- Ammo System - You can buy a gun and buy ammo
- Item System - A unique way of using and managing items
Items/Inventory
- Item Limit
- You can sell items back to shops and discard items as you wish
- You can switch weapons between gun and sword, and reload
- You can also decide whether you're defending or attacking in battle
- Unique Item System
- Item slots
- Different health items give certain % of HP
- Bombs - To clear land and damage enemies
- Keys/Treasure Chests
- There are many items which I won't lise- too many
Ship
- You can enter, exit, and pilot the ship
- Destroying the engine destroys the ship
- You can buy cannons and escape boats for the ship
- You can row the row boat to an enemy ship and board
- Ship battles - boarding
Battles
- Land Battles - Unique battle system (which is disclosed)
- Ship Battles - Fight on ships, board ships
- You gain goods/money and XP from battles
- You have the option of escaping battles as well
Towns
- You can be jailed/kicked out of town for crimes
- Docking fees to enter towns
- There will be partolling guards watching if you commit crimes
Level Ups
- XP at end of battle/ end of quests
- Per Level Up - Gain money/Health level ups
Crew
- Crew Limits
- Computer Controlled crew
- The crew follows you/ you have the option of leaving them on the ship
- You can give the crew commands in battle - Attack, Defend, Hold
Bugy System
- Horse buggies in each town
- Bugys take you to towns without battle disruptions
- You can get off the bugy whenever you want while its moving
Bar Fights
- You can participate in bar fights
- The more fights you win the more the cash racks up
- You can stop whenever to collect the cash
- As soon as you lose a fight, you gain nothing
Shops
- Inn, Bar, Ship Shop, Jail, Blacksmith, Item Shop, Stables
Well those are the basics of the map. As you can tell this map will be one of the greatest rpgs, i hope. If you have any ideas or suggsetions, this is wut this thread is for.

Hm, I think DK2004 was referring to some sort of gridded ship system for the ships. (U)Bolt_Head and Launcher(U) both made a map with it on it.
It's great seeing you making a large rpg, but note that don't over complicate your map, they don't always come out to the conclusion being what you want and may lead to unfixable bugs.
And make sure you finish this, and keep us updated about the map.
ur armor system isnt unique... mainly since i showed/told you about it... qPirateKing put it in his map and i'm using it in my map lol
Sounds great Turtle heard you first talk bout making a pirate map make when I first joined clan and you outranked me lol. If you ever need help with terrain I am sure for you I can throw in a hand if you need it. As for the armor system if he releases his map with it first then it is unique and avalon I havnt seen you finish a map yet so yea lol

or maybe his system is different

Yo Bringer maybe u could show me sum things u could do with the editor with terrain. Use jungle terrain and show me sum Caribbean area layouts: EX: Docks, beaches, etc..
Just show me sum ideas
Lots of people could show you ideas like that... use alota sprites and things... Make it have lots of grass, beaches, ships patroling, islands.
For docks use extended terrain of a bridge...
You would need wide open areas... Tall cliffs overlooking the sea...
Turtle: I could help you a lot with the terrain...
Guys just send me sum ideas on a map, like wut it looks like. That would help alot. I use SCMDraft btw.

Yea and Alpha is evil when he isnt happy and I could maybe sense demotion. Alpha would'nt ban Turtle from clan b.c Turtle is well our buddy

Like I said, if u got any terrain ideas for the caribbean, put them on Editor and show me. It would help make the game a lot better, as far as appearance goes.
Sounds very good but very very complex. I like that you added a lot of original ideas; I cant wait to see how all of it comes out. I suggest you finish the most important features and making the map playable. Then you can add more features like items, abilities and all the features you listed. I hope you can finish it. Keep yourself motivated and good luck

I think the '
Engine' should be first, like all the
non-story line triggers before you start doing anything to the story (maybe just make the intro), so when you test the story, everything you need to get and can get will be right beside you

and to say this map i think will be pretty cool if finished

Yea, I'll be doing the engine first of course, that will take the longest and then i can just do the story, which shouldn't be too hard. (I hope)
Thats basically what I said. "Make the game playable". Just means that you shouldn't start working on features first you should focus on the "Engine" first like you said.

Hum... This map sound really complicated... when it's complicated I see "bugs" around... You should Use :::Sid Meier Pirates::: game travelling concept... like you had a ship, go into a small piece or earth with a building on it that represent the city than make appear the boat on water near a bigger city somewhere in the map...
