I have a few computer units folowing a random switch path but they rarely attack eachother when in proximity to another player take a look see what you can do
[attachmentid=3428]
You used the 'move' order, thus why the units will just move to the location and ignore any other units.
to make them attack enemy units among the way:
1. make sure they're actually foes, use the allience action
2. instead of 'move' or 'attack' use the 'patrol'.
when units patrol, not only that they go to the location and backwards but they also attack enemy units among the way.
on the other hand, units with 'attack' won't attack... the order names are eww...
if you don't want the patrolling units to patrol the way just tell them in the last location to move to that location and they'll stop at their position.
That pretty much hit the nail on the head.
Except, if your using hypers, and you have the triggers have a preserver trigger, and the trigger is being used over and over, the unit that is triggered will not attack.
For example, if you got a trigger constantly telling a unit to attack, it won't attack cause its being told to attack to much.
Like in game, if you got a marine, and you have it selected and you constantl right click an enemy, it will have a hard time attacking it, cause you keep telling him to attack.
Don't use attack. Patrol is more effective.
Well, if you use patrol, the unit will come back to it's original place after going to to destination location. If your using Hyper Triggers and that trigger id preserved, use a switch so it dosn't repeat until he gets to the end. Or something like that!
Or if the unit has only one path, then yea, use patrol its good, BUT NEVER PRESERVE A TRIGGER THAT HAS PATROL. Or else the units will go to the destination location and will stay there, since you tell them again to patrol. They patrol from the destination location to the destination location. In other works they move they they stay there! Hope I helped you!
Don't hyper and preserve patrol if you tell the same units constantly. I use hyper and preserve patrol in my Uprising map and it has no problem because it doesn't do the same units, it does this group and this location, and another group at the same location. Don't make a huge location and tell those units to constantly patrol even when they are patrolling, they won't attack well.
It's best to tell them to do something else when they reach the location that they are patrolling to.
