What I hate about black outs, they take away my fun and then scratches my CD.

At the CD-Drive, it doesn't let go to slow down, it slows it's spins, and it need electricty, if the CD-Drive STOP immediatly from a blackout, poop your CD is scratched. No Trust me, I put the CD in the drive and the CD is in good condition, took out, no black out, its still good, but if a black out comes, you already know... If you get blackouts or something that turns off your CPU immediatly, it will seriously break your CD that costs $50 or less

That is why I have a big battery connected to my PC. When the lights go out i still have my PC turned on with over 15 minutes of battery to run it off. When the light comes back my batter recharges automatically.

We've never had a black out over here, and if there is.. Doesn't matter most of the time they're 10$ Music CDs in the drive..

Man, I get black outs all the time, and power surges, too. It's real annoying when you're doing something, then your power goes out. Most of my CDs are scratched up anyway, so it's not making them much worse when it happens. And if one of them did get ruined, I'd probably have a backup somewhere...
I'm posting in color now!

My comp does the same thing as Beer's, biggrin.gif I live in the middle of nowhere and we get a lot of snow storms in the winter ranting.gif , so it's very useful. I've never had a blackout mess up a CD, even before we had the battery thing, but the disc never stopped immediately.

I got those plastic skins on my cd's in the drive so they won't scratch the disc biggrin.gif .
