I'm trying to get a computer controlled medic to blind whatever I put in front it, at any point in the game. I'm aware that the computer will blind anything as soon as the map loads, but after that I can't seem to get the computer to respond to anything.
Here's what I have so far:
1.) Medic's health is less than the unit it is blinding (This works for the start of the game.)
2.) Blind enabled (Duh).
Here is what I have tried:
1.) Set heroes to ally for a bit, then back to enemy to see if that will restart whatever process the game goes through, that makes the computer blind the first unit it sees.
2.) Run AI Script "Clear Previous Battle Data".
3.) Run AI Script "AI Harass Here"
4.) Run AI Script "Set Generic Command Target"
So far none of these have worked, anyone know how to do this?
Medics should blind any unit with 81 HP or more. They will not blind hero units. Enjoy.
Should't this be in Map making assistance?
Also I found out if the medics are being attacked they will blind like crazy. I used it for a map. The medics didin't blind anything but once I made the medics get attacked they blind super fast anything that is not blind that is in its range.
Also the medics blinded the Alexi Stukovs so...they do blind heroes.
Maybe the medic ran out of energy.
You could try creating a new medic.
Try having it be attacked.
Make sure the units are above 81 HP like nozomu said.
Are there any other AI scripts put on the player that controls this unit?
If so, get rid of that and see what happens..
As long as the medics are being attacked they will blind any units with any hp in range, that are not already blind. Well at least I thnk...
besides if it was only units at that range then marines and firebats wouldnt always get blinded when I'm playing the missions.
You could try having more than one medic around and have the medic's get vision of the whole map.
I'm pretty sure you can blind heroes as well. Coz i did blind jim raynor in one of my trailers.

I got a system down based off your comment. To blind an observer, make sure the observer's hp is higher than the unit attacking the medic, and the medic will blind the observer. There's more to it as far as having this process be hidden to the player, but that's the jist of it. Thanks!

Make Computer Cast Optic Flare
First of all, a medic will almost always blind a air detector of an enemy. Now in other cases, you need the basics for optical flare. Make it available to the medic and you might want to make sure no nearby units of the same ownership as the medic need healing. Now, a medic will NEVER blind a civilian unless player controlled I believe. But, a medic will cast optical flare if it is researched for the comp and it has enough energy as long as the unit has at least 81 hp. I know, this is pretty weird but it is true.
There ya' go.Yes medics blind civilians. Civilians are one level of the map and the medics blind them. They are controled by a computer. I am going to test if the medics will blind any lower than 81 hp which is the minimun blinding hp.
Nope they wont
