Dragonslayer RPG

Storyline

The Humans and the Dragons have lived in peace since the humans settled in the area. The dragons terrorized the village one day. Some wizards in the village sensed a dark and powerful energy coming from the southeast of the village, and it's up to you to cleanse the energy. On the way there you will encounter some...not so small obstacles.

- 128x128 Badlands (OK, so it's pretty small for an RPG, but it prevents from having to walk back and forth for so long)

Warrior - Reinforcements (Can only use this once!)
Mage - Teleport nearby Party to Town

For a first RPG it's pretty good. I'll play it tonight and tell you what I think, but it looks well set up. biggrin.gif Better than my first tongue.gif

For a first RPG, it's reptty good, but I have a fwe suggestions.

Perhaps limit the amount of Exploding Arrows you can have out at a time, or have them only able to come out when you're very close to an enemy. I sort of abused the ability to kill all the gaurds and the last mage. Once I got them, I never really had to go back and heal much.

At the end, I would writea little thing explaining what happens, so you don't suddenly win. People like endings... well, more that people don't like maps without endings, lol

The Adolescent Dragon (hydralisk) is too weak. Hydralisks do half damage to marines, so the archer has a huge advantage.

The Child Dragon (drone), never attacks, so it's free EXP. I would make them attack by having them patrol or something, or make change them to a different unit.

The Crsytal that heals you doesn't show up on the minimap when you leave that area. Maybe you could get vision there, or have a beacon or something there.

I would add a little sound, atleast for when you level up or intro music or somehing, just something short and quick.

Other than that I thought it was pretty neat. I beat it one player (the Exploding Arrows can be abused a bit =\ lol),. I liked how the amount of EXP you needed to grow a level got bigger, a lot of RPGs don't have that. ALso, the abilities were simple to use, and it was neat that you had to save up to get them.

Anyways, it was pretty neat, and I hope this stuff helped at least a bit, biggrin.gif

Away make a drone attacck is partol or location on top player orders the drone to attack the player at location. It's Alright rpg for your first shot, try improving it alittle sure be good rpg.

Alright, thx for the advice. Ill keep that in mind but now i gotta eat breakfast.

ADDITION:
Ok, here are some changes:

-The Baby, Child and Adolescent dragons are now stronger
-The Dragon Child now patrols the area so it's no longer free exp
-Ground Weapon upgrades for Yellow have increased from 25 to 30, so it makes the guards and the boss mage slightly stronger

I still need to figure out a way to fix the archer's ability...

The last boss, the mage, was too easy... I killed him with the splash of my "exploding arrows" attacking the pylons. and yeah, the exploding arrows were kinda rigged, it would've been better if there was at least some mana to limit you from getting like 100 very fast. Other than that only thing that I didn't like was no one in town talked to me... cold.

For some reason this map sounds like my hero world legends 4 map cuz i had the same reason why i made my map 128x128

You could have done MUCH better, but this is pretty good. I don't like zig-zaggy RPGs...

Here's yet again another update.

I figured out a way to prevent overusage of the players' abilities

To prevent overusage of the players' abilities, the ability will be used once, then the unit will be teleported back.

That's a good idea, it would take a very long time then to abuse the abilites, lol. Maybe 3 or 4 hours tongue.gif

Hmm sounds fun, I've downloaded it and will try to play sometime when I get a chance during school and hopefully offer some helpful suggestions fo rthe map since its still on your "improving" list biggrin.gif .

The spell unit wasn't teleported back for me. I'll try redling to make sure I got the right map.

Are you thinking of adding sounds or sprites?

Alright, here's a major update.

Changes:
- Treasure Chest added. If you kill one of these, you earn 1 stat point.
- Killing a Dragon's Nest now gives a bonus of +1 stat point and +1 skill point.
- Guard's SP changed from 200 to 100.
- Warrior's ability, Reinforcements have been changed. Instead of 1 extra warrior, you will recieve 3 Guards for antiair support.
- A new powerful dragon has been added. You will face him near the end of the game.
- Gaining an ability now only costs 8.
- There is a cutscene when you get to the boss mage.
- You can talk to more people in town.
