i would really appreciate some help on this seeing that i am not experienced. i have some great ideas just i need the basics to get rolling!!

staredit.net is the best help on the internet i have found.

WTF? What do you mean???? If you mean having a terran unit with shields and and having the unit regenerate health like a zerg unit does, this isn't possible (unless you use a mod). If you mean making 2 differant units as soon as a different unit appears on a map, then use these triggers:

null
Trigger
Players:
¤ what ever players you want
Conditions:
¤ current player brings at least 1 of unit x to "anywhere"
Actions:
¤ center location y on unit x
¤ presever trigger

Trigger
Description:
yay! your now changing this unit to a different unit!
Players:
¤ what ever player you want
Conditions:
¤ current player brings at least 1 of unit x to location y
Actions:
¤ kill or remove all of unit x at location y
¤ create one unit y
¤ create one unit of n
¤ presever trigger

You can do these triggers in sc xtra or starforge.

uuuuummmmmm

*Condition
>Player 1 commands atleast 1 "unit 1"

*Action
>center loaction labled "loaction 1" on "unit 1" for currentplayer at "anywhere"
>remove 1 "unit 1" at location "location 1"
>create 1 "unit 2" at location "location 1"
>create 1 "unit 2" at loaction "location 1"
>preserve trigger

i hope that'lll work

Okay, the second time I read it, I understand what he meant.

You have to use Heroes.
Heroes are like the normal units, except;
They have all upgrade applicable(like Marine hero will always have sitm pack and range, unless you turn them off, so that you can't upgrade them)

Heroes cannot be built, only placed and made with triggers.

Additionally, in order to make it LOOK like 2 of the same units with different names, stats, whatever; you must change the names of the units in the Unit and Hero settings under "Scenario" on the Menu Bar in Staredit. In that section you can edit many things like the Hero's names and the Marine's name.

yes, there are heros for most anything. Unlike Warcraft, you can't make another unit based on a unit.
