Can't really say much about melee maps but i'll give it a shot...

Too few resources. Add more expansion sites, perhaps islands or unreachable cliffs. Make sure you dont make the terrain like those fastest possible map ever maps where it's just a plain strip of land with no decoration or curvature in the terrain. and add more doodads

Ok, one problem with this map would be the mineral lines. 12 o clock's minerals are right next to the edge of the map while everyone else's have room for scouts to move behind, giving them an advantage/disadvantage, depending on the situation/ build style.

Another thing is that there might be too much open space. You could add platforms in the lava for expansion bases with 7-8 mineral patches and 1 gas. This gives players more options and more strategies to execute. Also spice up the map with doodads to give the player a little bit of eye candy. Right now the map looks really plain and all that open space makes the mini-map tiny, which some players don't like. This map kinda reminded me of Gorky Island, lol. Ignore the last part.

Other than that you are good to go. Next time, try to make your map in a way so that it jumps out at you and WoWs the people so that they will DL it and have fun on it. smile.gif

P.S: And 5 minutes? Most decent maps would take at least an hour to make. The WGT Tour map makers probably spend at least 2 hours perfecting one map. Try spending some time adding more detail to your map. If you just throw together a map and not put much thought into it, even the best idea will come out lookin' bad.

Yea he said he didnt finish it yet. He just wants our opinion over the basic formatting of the terrain

1. You don't need 2 gas in one of those secondary bases. You could have two gas, but i think you should split it up kinda like the islands on LT if you get what i mean.
2. Way to much open space in the way of the lava. You could add 4 small secondary bases in that amount of lava.
3. Should add ramps up to the center in the middle terrain or just totally redo the center.. The center should be more important, maybe add some more minerals, but not in huge chunks like maybe in chunks of four throughout INCLUDING what you already have in the center.
4. All you used was 3 different terrain types. Try to incorporate more than that in a map, it adds style.
5. Try and not use only 1 type of Mineral Patch, there are 3 different ones you can work with, but thats just for looks.
