I've noticed that PC users are constantly asking for Wave converters/sound files in Wave format, and that led me to wonder if PC StarEdit doesn't have the same features as Mac StarEdit. In Mac StarEdit, when you choose an sound to import, you can convert it to Wave format like this:
[attachmentid=3838]
[attachmentid=3839]
wow, i think that it actually different and better! i want a mac now
edit: ill post ss's of pc's sound editor
[attachmentid=3840]
[attachmentid=3841]
as you can see, its realy crappy
*Runs away to steal a Mac Copy of StarEdit*
So maybe PC's aren't so great?...
Too bad your screenies were of OS 9: Now that I have OS X, I've realised how ugly it was.

Care to show us how good it looks in OS X? I kinda likes how it looks in OS9 and since you say OS X looks better...
It looks less 'businesslike' and more curved. OS 9 looks a lot like Windows, whilst X looks like an iPod I suppose - all curves and shiny bits...
Unfortunately, I can't use Staredit until I get another copy of the original SC disc (I'm working on that one), as I gave it to a friend for a while - he lost it and I changed computers, so I need to re-get SC.
Here's a random screenie of OS X though:
Halo For PC > Some stupid Wav filing crap.
OS X look pretty nice. I might consider getting a OS X skin plug in for Windows XP.
There is no version of StarEdit for Mac OS X... Yet... I'm working to change that.
Good. I have an Emerald for Mac os X, but it still opens up StarEdit in OS 9. I wonder why Blizzard didn't make a carbon version of StarEdit when the released BroodWar Carbon.

Actually, all screenshots of StarEdit on Mac will end up in OS 9 considering StarEdit for OS X doesn't exist.
They probably didn't want to support an older game's utilities as much as the game itself. Notice that StarEdit hasn't been updated since like 1.04 or 1.05.
True, but I figured that they would realize that some Mac users do actually make maps. Meh...

Heh, so few people make maps in the first place, so the number of Mac users is inconsequential. Plus, they're not losing customers by not updating Mac StarEdit.

That's because Emerald is a patcher. There are no stand alone mac editors, only patchers.
There are a few online petetions for Blizzard to make a Carbon version of StarEdit, but Blizzard has given up on StarCraft, except for bug fixing.
