It's doing very poorly (anyone that thinks otherwise is an idiot). Do we need to list the reasons? Here are three ones on the top of my head:

1. Have you noticed that Iraqi recruits always seem to die in the dozens? I wonder how many recruits died before they were even commissioned. I bet their death toll is higher than U.S. fatalities.
2. There are over 1,000 U.S. fatalities, but do you know how many casualties there are? The number is much higher.
3. Is there anyone over there really trained to lead a country? We need to train the politicians, not just their lackluster army.

4. (I know I know) How much has this stupid war cost?

It is not doing to good because we will never stop the iraqie-alcidia-and rebels because assyiria is providing troops weapons and even tanks and bush doesent know what he is doing we need to raid assyria and overthrow there goverment and put someone else there because if we dont we will loose more men and maybe the war and i already know someone that died because they were my cousin bush is stupid but kerry would have been worse......................................

Not going to happen. In case you haven't noticed, the army is calling up the dregs of its reserves. My 45-year old step-grandfather is a supply acquisition specialist or something, yet he's being called up for guard duty. We're out of troops, and soon we'll need more than the older veterans can even provide. I, for one, am never going to go over there to kill anyone or be killed. 100,000 Iraqis dead, and not one apology for killing civilians... It's pretty sickening. Bush would do it all over again if he saw the need for it (or, based on his past actions, even if he didn't). The Iraqis hate us, because we are imposing our way of life on them and they get no say. Any Iraqi elected to be "President" will have been approved ten times over by US politicians so as to be "sensitive" to our ideals.

The world is going to hell in a handbasket, and I, for one, want out.

Its definately not going well thats for sure. I find it incredibly stupid as to how things have went along, tactics I mean. I forget who's Chief of staff right now, but whoever he's a censored.gif ing douche. Last time as in Desert Storm, we bombed them like crazy. Non stop bombings for like a week I believe and shortly after they surrendered. Sure it wouldnt have been as easy this time around, but there sure would not be over 1,300 american deaths. "you cant defeat what you cant shoot" I believe the quote was taken from Desert Storm, which was refferring to the week long bombings.

The Iraqi's already hated us, this is nothing new.

Heh, yeah, but we used to be able to say that they didn't have a good reason.

I may just be a hell of alot more cynical than most, but who really gives a damn? If you think the war is doing well and Bush is doing great, then enlist in the army and go fight with him - show us you're the patriot you say you are. If you disagree and think the war is totally screwed up, enjoy a burden on your nation's back - and prepare for the world's response to our unfortunate actions.

I really don't think I have to list any reasons here (but can if I must), I've been too active in the other "Bush" discussions... crazy.gif blushing.gif

this isn't a "Bush" discussion though...its a discussion to see if you believe the situatoin in Iraq is justified, not justified, doing well, doing poorly, whatever, but i better not see any flames/spam

Public opinion of Iraq is the same as public opinion of Bush. Would a Bush-supporter dare to say we're in trouble in Iraq? I don't think so. The two opinions are one and the same.

flames/spam

Unless my definition of flaming / spamming are different, I don't think I've ever done either on these forums.

And Nozomu is right, I'm glad he picked up on my point.

Thats gotta be one of the worst ideas ive heard.. Its like saying "Lets go try to put out that fire with more fire!." Not to mention that it would cause an even bigger fuss in the UN.

Thats not compltely true as I know quite a few Bush supporters that believe we made a lot of mistakes in Iraq. My uncle is one of them, I was talking to him about Iraq a couple weeks ago and he made it quite clear of the many things Bush could/should have done but didnt. Then again he's not one of the average un-informed Bush suppoters that I think you're reffering to Nozomu.
