I'm trying to play a joke on my friend on a board. I want to see what his password is so that I can post as him (as a joke, we're joking about me going on as him).

How would you go about doing that so that i dont change his password?

I think its version 4. Idk (The url has s4 in it... so..)

(I have full admin, so i can edit his stuff and stuff)

You are just going to have to give him Admin CP for a while so that he can change back his password or mod it so that he can see his password in a secret page.

Nope, I can't view mine directly from the site. I have my computer set to remember my passwords for this site so that it auto log-in but it will show up as *********. If you change his password he won't notice, since the PC saves the Cookies and not the actuall password.

You can't see it. It's in an MD5 hash, and its not funny to see peoples passwords because chances are they have that same password for other things as well.

Yeah that happened to me, I have 3 accounts on SC, 4 internet fourm passwords, and even crap on Ps2 Online, so when someone found out my password was Lorne (The cool green guy from Angel) I had to change them all

Yes, you can't see the passwords and it is a good thing too. Most people use the same pssword multiple places, so, for example, if I could see BeeR's password in my forum, i would probabally know his SEN pass and then i'd be a mod.

All my passwords are simple but for like security stuff (Ebay, paypal etc) I use complex ones
In a nutshell
All of my bnet ones are the same
All of my web ones are they same
Then the security ones are all different

There is actually a way,
Change their email to yours.
"I forgot my password"
Change their email back.
