Okay has any one every watched that has life trailer made by screwed? cause if some one has l would like to no how when gordan freeman runs to the elevator then he fires the missles and all explosions go out in differents directions following the wraith, how do u do this plz helpsmilie.gif

I don't know what map it is or what he did, but it just sounds like a series of locations making explosions after the wraith flies by. Or it could be a location centered on the wraith that causes those explosions as they enter the location.

In half-life trailer (heh .. i know it's a typo made by you.. but it's not 'has-life' trailer tongue.gif), what I did in that part is -

C
- A switch that ends the last scene

A
- Create 1 wraith owned by Player X at 'Gordan Freeman Center' (create unit)
- Center Location 'Player X Wraith Center' on Wraith owned by Player X (I usually center two locations and create units in the smaller location and kill units in the bigger location)
- Order all wraith owned by Player X at anywhere move to Location 'Wraith X move to'
- Set Switch 1 (set switch)
- Wait 3000 milliseconds. (this mite cause a wait block for the next trigger so make the next trigger owned by the player who have hyper triggers if you dont have the want the wait in the next trigger.)
- Set Switch 2.
Then another trigger

C
- Switch 1 is set

A
- Wait (not recommended, you could try using hyper triggers) biggrin.gif
- Create 12 Scouts at 'Player X Wraith Center' for player 7 (or any other that isn't Player X,Y or Z)
- Kill all wraith at Player X wraith Center for Player 7. (or just Kill all wraith for player 7)
-Preserve Trigger.


Then do these two triggers respectively, for Player Y and Player Z using Switch 2,3,4.

Start the trigger for Player Y when Switch 2 and activate explosions using Switch 3. After ended, use Switch 4 to start explosions following the wraith owned by Player Z.

Start the trigger for Player Z when Switch 4 and activate explosions using Switch 3. Clear Switches 1,2,3,4 after to stop the explosions.

lmao about the feeling speacial thing screwed. What u read up there is going to take me ages to work out coundt u just give me the unprotected version of it so l could study the triggers and learn more if u could that would be great thx

Sorry about this.. but I don't give out unprotected versions of my map in case they are leaked for some reason... and I think most people will feel and act this way when this happens to them.

It sounds like I don't trust you, but from past experiences of other people, I have learnt not to do that in case they get leaked for 'unknown' reasons.

For parts you don't get, I can explain to you bit by bit. Plus, I don't have it right now.. I'm on my laptop away on a vacation. In addition I can't remember if the unprotected version is lost in countless reformats i had done.

Perhaps you can explain which part you don't get and if you really don't get it, I'll make a sample map with the explosions for you.

I'll just clarify the previous post for you.

Triggers work this way, you set a condition and when the condition is satified, an action happens. There is an action that moves a location onto a unit and if you do another action called preserve trigger, the trigger keeps executing over and over again until the condition is not satisfied anymore. As a result, the location keeps following the unit (owned by player X.Y or Z).

In the map, the unit is a wraith, and to determine between the 3 wraiths you see in the map which goes into 3 different directions, you make them owned by 3 seperate players which allows you to centre 3 locations and seperate wraiths.

Then you create scouts and kill them at each location almost instantly so it looks like explosions.

couldnt u just make that elevator scene on a diff map by itself. Cause l can understand triggers when l c them in star edit but not when some 1 types them dunno y lt just doesnt click for me if u type them in a post
