How do you make it where it immediately creates the unit, without crashing, when you click on the button to build it? I've seen it done before, so I know it's possible. ( It might have been canceled out by a patch, but I dont know )

It hasn't been, as you say, cancelled from a patch. The only time I have seen this happen is in a few special forces games. I could train the unit instantly, but it costed me more than 1500 minerals. I think, although I am not sure, if you can have a unit to build instantly but it has to cost a lot of minerals and/or gas.

It was free. DeadHorse[i) made a map where the units did that. You could make 20+ units in less than 2 seconds. It was cool! (It's for an idea for a map )

Maybe it was done in StarForge since 1 in Staredit = 15 in StarForge. If you change it to 1 in StarForge it would be 1/15 of a second.

I could try...

Tested: Its definantly faster, but not as fast as I remember it being.

Yes. Just set the build time to 1 in Starforge.

It's not instant, but it's damn near close enough.

ADDITION:

can you set it to like 10000? i doubt you can but i dont think high numbers will do good except that like 8379 number or whatever it was(i think it only works for upgrades though)

If you set a Zerg Building speed to 1 in StarForge, it will never finish, it's weird. if you build a cc or nexus or something, the health will go too lsowly and it will be in the red zone. SO it's really fast, but SC wasn't made for it, so know the HP glitches with buildings. They are realy annoying, angry.gif lol

Hmm, Try 1 build time in Starforge with operation cwal. Does that work? Perhaps 1 build time at 4x speed?

3 or 4 speed is fast enough. How fast do you need it to be?

Build time 1 in StarForge crashes my game. Did I do something wrong?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by RexyRex on 2005-01-10 at 00:19:18
I've always thought that build time 1 in SF crashes SC. I thought it was 2 that made the instant build. Ask MoodeFace, he did it in Uberena.

You openened it in another editor (Xtra or Staredit or something that uses normal build times, not actual ones) and it set it to 0, which does crash.

Ah, thanks. I'll remember that.

Ill try that! (Never realized how hard it is to find quoted text in this form)

Also: Does it matter what unit?

Edit: Tested the speeds; 1,2,3,4, and 5. 1 ~ 2. 3,4,5 are increasingly longer.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by RexyRex on 2005-01-10 at 04:55:35
No, but you know how it always bugs and gives them wack HP. Just keep adding 1 to the build time until it works. Remember to use SF though.

Up to speed 10, still no changes other than a gradual slowing down.

Should I stop? (It doesnt look like it's going to do anything)
Report, edit, etc...Posted by RexyRex on 2005-01-10 at 04:59:54
Do whatever satisfies you. Just try to make it not change the units HP to some random percent when you build it. So if 5 made the HP go wack, and 6 didn't...don't do 7. Do 6.

4x Speed with A high templar as a moveing unit guy! biggrin.gif

Okay, My problem is solved. Up to a mod to close

lol Kow, you can do that on your own. It should be under "OPTIONS" next to "FAST REPLY"

I know, I was just going to let a mod close, because they might want it open... huh.gif

I can't believe this. Mini Moose 2707 made Überena.
