The Castle
256x256 map
This map will have one huge castle on it and I plan to make it living and breathing. It is going to be made into a RP. If you have any ideas for this project please post them. Got rid of the pictures but will have more up later in my newer thread where I can go into more detail and delete threads like DeathKnights lol.

) but about the road, the edges doesn't seem natural - you could use some tree sprites to cover them up

Yea, some tree sprites, and maybe some cloaked burnin bunks for some medieval castle?

For the road, you could something like this.
road with natural sidesIgnore the grid, I just ddi it quickly in SF, but I guess it would make it easy to find similar tiles. It would save you a lot of sprites.

Fixed the road, I have made some more progress and later tonight ill post some more screenies maybe. So what should I turn this into maybe though? I was thinking maybe just a plain and simple RP.
Hey bringer nice idea. I was workin on a very similiar project but more like a defense b4 i moved to wc3 one thing I had, that you may or may not want to use, was "siege weapons" which were situated around the walls and u would bring ammo (crystals that are stored in keep) with a probe to the siege weapon and it would fire an explosion line of scourges (like in a bound) killing lower level mauraders (like lings and hydras in my map)
Basically in my map your castle was under siege however. I like yours a bit better in that there is more too it. Also dont make the mistake of having very little story that I did. It all ready sounds like you've steered clear of that tho.

I like the fountain, but tell us more about the game other than terrain.
The Game.... Hmmm. Well at the start of the game you will choose your character which so far I have only decided on 5 different characters. And 1 Character that you start with and can become any of the 5. Also debating if I should allow someone to be the lord of the castle at the start or maybe become the lord either way still debating on which one if any of them. Also debating on rather or not to have a player that controls actions in a game like a siege, assult, treachory or so on or to have it just random and controled by triggers.
Peasant-Just a towns person that lives in the Castle and runs errands to make money and in times of need can be used in case of an assult on the castle as a garrisoned soldier.(Can become any unit later by your actions and by visiting certain people)
Guard-Loyal to the Lord of the Castle, patrols the castle and is in control of taking care of criminals.
Black Smith-Goes around doing errands for soldiers with there weapons and by gathering rare metals to make more powerful weapons.
Thief-Goes around making a living by stealing goods of people at night.
Pit Fighter-A peasant that was either kidnapped, sold into slavery, or did it on there own free will to fit in gladitorial pit fights. They fight against animals and also other humans for a living.
Tavern Owner-Runs a tavern where they serve Ale and some Taverns have have Pit Rings were the Pit Fighters fight. All the Taverns also have a upstairs Brothel.
By far right now, it sounds like a great game! Keep up the work and stuff...
Haha Ðeathknight amen... The terrain does seem little plain for SF/ISOM hybrid... Sprites, Units, and a little bit of fixing terrain cracks will set it.

Other then that the map seems prefectly fine, i wonder what the future has for this.

Holy dal jim beam in a bottle. DeathKnight someone has brains and no its not you sadly but instead its the Aussie who relized hey sprites mmm sprites go last specialy if you use xtra to do triggers which would delete your hard placed sprites. So yea thanks Coded.Slug.
I use SF triggers, to avoid those problems, but you could try this.
Have multiple copies of the map.
Have one where you put the sprites on it. Anytime you need to change the terrain and add new sprites to the sprite version of the map, use SCMimporter to edit the terrain like the one you are doing a bit with X-tra
When you need to, you can then copy the map with the triggers, then use SCMimporter to put the sprites in it. They will be in the right place because you had the terrain doubled and the sprites alreafy where you needed them.
I am assuming that the doodads/sprite option works for this, right?

But since you had to kindly be a dumbass, sprites are extremely easy to place, so I think it's pathetic that you believe placing sprites is hard. WOW! A WHOLE TWO STEPS! First, you click on the sprite, then you click where you want to put it. Isn't that amazing?
It is hard for him because he does not know how to use sf trigger therefore sprites placing will be hard since SCXE will delet the spirtes.
I know how to do SF Triggers I just don't like them b.c I have seen they like to glitch up sometimes. Yes the utilities but why use so many utilities when hey I can just have one copy of the map and not worry about bothersome stuff. Sprites come last for me. Everyone has there own way to do things and I put sprites last most the time. Also DK those pictures were just concepts so people would understand what I was making. Of course I am gonna fix them and make them look nice and add sprites and units and such. But instead of fighting lets stay on topic and discuss this map not piddly crap. But read my other thread that is linked at the top to better undertstand this map and the characters and stuff.
Terrain can still be fixed though.
this map looked great when bringer showed it to me. I told him that if he cut off half of the castle he could make it into an rpg just like the game "Siege of Avalon"

BTW Starforge triggers never 'glitch up'. They peobably seem to 'glitch up' to some people because they probably do not understand how triggers work.
