Gameplay:
One person is the tank driver, the other is the gunner. The gunner controls the turret (Corsair). There are four different types of turrets...Ordinance Turret, Assault Turret, Demolisher Turret, and one more that isn't released yet ;).
Just read the post above this one to get most of the infromation you'll need, I just elaborated on the gameplay =P

mmm... This map lookes realy interesting... How will you activate your turrets? Will it be automatic? Will it be an instant hit or can the other tanks dodge your attacks? Will you use a system that the rockets and stuff can hit walls and blow up instead of going on forever and up cliffs?
We are using something similar to Beers ABS system
Nice. Anyways I don't think there will be any public Beta testing. We already have sufficient people on the team to make a pretty good internal Beta test.
It's great seeing arena type maps being made, they're always fun and sometimes apply strategies against different players you meet all the time.

Just an idea, and I don't knowif this is going to fit in the ABS system, but make it you can throw grenades, flashbangs at your enemies and prefibly other abilities such as send scouts and lay mines

Grenades: Observer appear, move to target, explode in 5 seconds. Has high damage near centre of explosion. Useful to clear small room units take cover in.
Flashbang: Create a corsair and cast a disruption web the looks like light and all unit under the disruption web are invincible.
Scout: Just junkyard dog a halluncinated probe that venures like an idiot thru the wild.

Mine: well... obviously.. a mine. (when it comes up moves to beside the enemy, the virtual HP is deducted)
Just think these might add a twist to the game, I got some more ideas.. but just not as flexible as these.
I like the mine idea, might give the drver something to do besides run around
I wouldn't use grenades against a tank.
Flashbang would eb pretty good but not in the way that you said it. I think it would be better if your tank was disabled for a few seconds somewhat like a concussion grenade.
Scout is pretty much useless and disables many strategies because he cans ee you.
Mines would be pretty good.

I think mabe you guys should have the driver have not much vision and the tureter has to talk to him and tell him where poeople are... This could add in alota stratagies...
If you decide to use mines have a move called Detect... It will create and Observer above the tank for the DRIVER so he can see mines and can see better... This could add in more to the map.

This is a SMT production, mostly Me, Moogle, Rexy and LW have done work. LW is doing the turret triggers now, so i say map ETA end of week.
Odd, we doing basically the opposite that you said, the Turret is blind, so the tank has to spot for him.
There are 2 people per tank, driver and gunner. So overall 3 Tanks is 6 players

Temp, thanks for telling me about this.

The idea does share a few things in common with my map, War Machines (it's already on SEN if anyone feels like dling it). The main vehicles are similar (I use vulture lurker dragoon tank), and I also have the "virtual hp" thing. I used "virtual hp" a few years back in Battle Tanks, which I haven't posted in SEN (War Machines is far better). By the way, I already have mines in both my maps.

From what I read, the weapons are different. Also, this system involves multiple players per vehicle, whereas my system has individual players controlling their own. I'd like to download this to see what's different and what's new when it is completed.
I'm brainstorming for more ideas on a different but similar concept to my War Machines. I don't know when I'll even start that one though. Hopefully I'll see something that can add some inspiration.

Sounds cool. I used the tank/corsair thing in my old fire fighters map, but didn't think to make a map of that concept on its own, at the time. Seems to me like it could use a bit more tactical element, though (if you're up to it).
Maybe have non-tank players (or players who get stuck on 1 man teams) be something like bombers (dropship unload = bombs), or recruitable engineers (for stuff like laying/detecting mines, making AA turrets against bombers, repairing tanks, "sticky bombs", etc.). And of course, some kind of objective(s) so its not simply a deathmatch, like a CTF mode, defend/escort a target, king of the hill, or hell even a story-based mode if you're up to it.
Probably should try to get the basic concept implement first, though.
