I was wondering, if It was possible to achieve 8x speed in Maps, and how?
I know how to achieve 4x speed, and 2x speed.

Place a player 14 map revealer at the very top left area of your map. It has to be placed first and it gives you 2x speed.

For 4x speed just do the same but with a P14 scarab.

I won't suggest using 8x and I've even heard of people achieving 16x and 32x but I won't suggest those last 3 since they are buggy and may crash your game often.

He gets mad when people say you have to place the map revealer at the top right of map which is not true.

Umm that is trigger speed not map unit speed. It has nothing to do with what we are talking about.

It doesnt have to be at the top left. People had referred to the top left because they didn't want people seeing the p13 unit (It would crash the game). So they put it at the top left. But now that we use better methods, such as map revealers and scarabs that disappear after the game begins, they can be played anywhere.

In this 4x speed db map I made, in one of the earlier versions if the zealot moved to close to where the scarab was placed it would freeze the game, so then i had to move the whole field a couple tiles away from where the scarab was.

They don't crash if they see p13 units it is p14 that will crash. I'm pretty sure.

Player 13 and 14 are like brothers, and kind of opposites. Player 13 map revealers will crash, while p14 map revealers work. For both players, the units can be placed anywhere. If you bring units to where the scarab/interceptor is(p14), the game will start to get extremely glitchy.

You could also make an avi like that by having a gol do a dance and using an anim program to speed it up.
