This idea has been floating around in my head for a while.
Now here are some ideas that seem to be original, or at least a bit.

QUOTE(Ideas)
- Supply Depot ( Where you have to get things if you run out of morphine, bandages, etc., etc.)
- Picking up weapons ( You pick up weapons from people that died or fallen foes.)
- Medic Alarm ( When someone is hurt on the field of battle.)
- After battle recreation area. (Such as a place to smoke, drink, play sports, etc., etc.)
There are more ideas. I'll list them later.

A good 30 minutes of play or more is in order.
This is also set in the WWII period.

So, tell me what you think.

Sounds pretty cool. There could be a massive marine/tank battle going on. After obtaining weapons, you could return to base and get the units associated with those weapons (very small upgrades).

You could simulate units being hurt by only using units with a hero equivalent. Like a Marine in the battle field dies and is replaced by a jim raynor marine with no attack and 1/3 hp of the marine. Then if the medic came to his location fast enough he would revert back to a normal marine with full HP.

Thanks for the encouragement, and the "Hero Hurt" idea is excellent.
Along with that I'll change the hero to a more critical level.. Like..

Jim Raynor (wounded), Gui Montag (serious), Samir Duran (critical). Then dead.

Will you be commanding an army in this or a hero amongst an army?

personaly this map would be way to hard... mabe give and ambulance truck or something so you can there faster... It would be veryanoying to head for a guy and he dies... then have another guy about to die on opposite side of map...

Trenches would be good so you jsut run in the trenches and help your marines that get hit... You would have to dodge grenades... Mabe make it like a bound in order to get to marines... That would be interesting...

Overall: I think this map needs to be explained more... How big is the map? How many Players?

This map is supposed to be hard, but the supply depot will allow you to get things like trucks, motorcycles, more supplies, etc., etc.

There will be trenches, but there will be drawbacks to them, such as less people in there to protect you.

hmmm. you could also simulate like, a whole battlefield, and have the troops slowly move thier way in like in normady.

I got this idea from My school history thing right now, and if ur gonna use it, give me credit:

Mustard Gas: blinds a guy far from it or kills a guy right on the explosion. Dark swarm for the mustard gas. It would be awesome, cuz there would be blinded guyz too...

I would suggest implementing a virtual HP system (burrowed drone under unit) and making it so that you can switch between medic and weapon modes. This way you could complete the duties of both soldiers.

That was used in WWI in WWII they did not use chemicals.

I think the Japanese used mustard gas on the Chinese.

This will not be set in the Pacific Theatre, but you are correct.

How about this? You could use the heroes (Raynor, Montag, and Duran) to represent soldiers equipped w/ different weapons (for example, a regular Marine represents a soldier w/ a Thompson SMG, while Raynor is a soldier w/ a BAR; a regular Ghost might have a Springfield rifle, while Duran has an M1 Garand); this concept can also allow the medic to have more weapons. You could use Zerg units to represent wounded soldiers (Hydralisk=wounded, Zergling=serious, Broodling=critical, for example). If you're using ammo triggers, you could throw in units that represent melee attacks that can be used if the player runs out of ammo (Zealot=fists, Fenix=bayonet, for example); they can also represent friendly and enemy soldiers that have run out of ammo.

Yeah, that was why I initially suggested a 1:1 regular unit, injured hero balance. But this is his map, let him explore new ideas.

How about just letting the medic die instead and respawning a new after a few seconds. This sounds more to me like a map where you aren't the center of attention. But it does seem like proper use of the medic unit at proper times could tip the balance of a battle.

Personally I like challenging maps, with goals and limited conditions to accomplish them in. An infinite respawn is stupid, but perhaps if you say that there are 20 medics or so and you can go help but when you die you go down one. If its a 4v4 medics you could have each person be a part of that amount. I picture something similar to Aeon of Strife where the heroes play a very important role. Sounds like a very unique and good looking concept. Please continue work.
