I don't know about you guys, but I hate CDs with parental advisory. For weeks, I've been searching for Green Day's American Idiot without a parental advisory, because I hate bad words. Of course, they don't have an edited version of that CD. What is the point of bad words in the music? Why?

Why would you care that much anyway? Its only a few cuss words in a CD. Oh ****, I JUST heard a car accident outside. Seriously.
But uh, moving on... in this age and society, there are groups of people that are already trying to restrict that sort of stuff, and they usually make it seem worse than it really is. If you really look at society, youll see kids almost as young as five years old throwing the f-bomb around like a toy. Childing thugging out, girls dressing like whores. Look at those Bratz dolls! And youre disturbed by a few bad words...
Summary: Suck it up.
Lol... Bratz dolls...
True, true, there's nothing really wrong with curse words, it's just society deems them as bad. I don't know what makes "crap" more holy than "s***" in people's minds, but whatever. And that's about it, it's only bad because you make it bad, just as eating pig meat for Jews. I think things will change eventually. We will grow up and take over America. There will be no more crappy elevator music played in stores (or elevators).
I hate edited versions of cds. If anyone gave me an edited cd, I would tell them to take that

back... and then laugh hysterically.
Why curse in music?
1. Rebel against society.
2. Emphasize a point.
3. It rhymes.

I think all ratings are stupid. Me and my little sister play Halo 2 sometimes (if you ever see me on live with another guest on my account, thats her). She sucks but she enjoys playing and has a laugh because she almost always beats a couple of people from last place and shes 8 years old

Halo 2 is rated mature (17+), I haven't seen her take out an SMG and kill everyone around her just because she played a game. Sure, shes a bit addicted to it and she wants to play it at inconvient times, but who doesn't?
The music ratings are even worse, seeing how its just a parental advisory because has someone saying some bad word. Heck, I swear more than the CDs do

Ah, yes, rhyming, the all powerful... um.
I'm sounding like an idiot!
"There will be no more crappy elevator music played in stores (or elevators). "
Hm, when I'm at stores, I usualy either hear no music, or good music, soooo, bleh.
Elevator music owns nub.
Also, music is just a way of expressing things..
I'm... under the age limit. So I go up to the counter and put american idiot down, he checks it out and stuff and I bought it, then I put down the Eminem CD, and he says I can't buy it, Parental Advisory, I was just about to say
"You dunce, they both say that"
But instead I just said
"ok" and went away with my American Idiot Album.
Censorship has got to be one of the most

ed up things in american society today. Who decided which words are bad? Why are they bad? What's the point?
Blah, whatever, I'll spare you my rant.
So what's so bad about american idiot anyway? There are only like-- what-- eleven curse words on the whole cd, and that's counting

and faggot.
But the word ***** is very offensive and they use it 3-4 times.
Yoshi says:
Please pay attention to the forum rules. Bypassing the filter like this IS NOT PREMITTEDQUOTE
Never attempt to bypass the forum swearing filters. It is there to automatically censor anything that others may find offensive. If theres a bad word you enjoy using a lot and you keep forgetting it doesn't censor, you may contact an administrator to add it to the censor list.
You know, considering that SEN follows the same rating as StarCraft (Teen, 13+) we should be able to say b¡tch.
Okay, here's why:
Pretend ur in a war, and u got ur leg shot off.
€Hawk€'s idea: "Oh darn. My leg!"
Reality: "GOD DAMMIT! MY LEG GOT BLOWN OFF! RAAAAH!!!!"
It's just a way of expressing ur thoughts, like it describes how strongly you think about one thing... (one thing)
I CAME I SAW I CONQUERED! (sry, had to do that, listening to Numb/Encore)

You'll notice how bitch isn't censored. He purposely overrid it by going like: badw*rd.
Although some words aren't censored, its still required to have good manner and not swear unless its artistic (like a poem in creative works) or something simular.

It was censored there.
Hm.
Bitch=allowable for 13+?
Now I'm really confused...
Words are being given 'age values' at which they're 'more okay' to read/say/hear/write?
...
...
Your allowed to say it in teen games... so yea, Bitch = 13+
I think that this topic should belong better in Serious Discussion.
If there's even one cuss word on a CD, they'll slap a "Parental Advisory" rating on it. Heh. Does the word "overreaction" mean anything to those people?
Why should this go in Serious Discusion? It's about a Green Day cd...
What does it matter, really? We may have started this whole thing about a Green Day CD, but the general issue of censorship, which we're currently discussing right now, is a serious topic.
I'm pretty sure i put a * in replacement of another word:
Like: F*ck. You can say that right? Plus those stars don't really give a hint:
"Hey guys I just found out that **** *** ******* DOESN'T THAT SUCK?!"
The F-word
- To have sexual intercourse with.
- To take advantage of, betray, or cheat; victimize.
- Used in the imperative as a signal of angry dismissal.
Offensive?No.
The Other F-word
- A student at a British public school who is required to perform menial tasks for a student in a higher class.
- Fatiguing or tedious work; drudgery.
- A cigarette.
- Used as a disparaging term for a homosexual man.
Offensive?May be considered offensive to gay people. May be. I know a lot of gay guys and none of them are offended by the word; some of them even use it themselves.
Bitch
- A female canine animal, especially a dog.
- A complaint.
- Something very unpleasant or difficult.
Offensive?No.
The S-word
- To defecate in.
- To tease or try to deceive.
- A small or worthless amount.
- Something of poor quality.
Offensive?Gross-- but no.
A-hole
- The anus.
- A thoroughly contemptible, detestable person.
- The most miserable or undesirable place in a particular area.
Offensive?Again, gorse, but still no.
The... D-word
- A detective.
- A fellow; a guy.
- A
. EDIT: ... Male reproductive organ. - A person, especially a man, regarded as mean or contemptible.
Offensive?No.
The bottom line is: Curse words are at most mildly offensive. If you are offended by a single word, then you know what that makes you? An immature little bastard.
The F word is fine, it expresses so much emotion and nowadays it isn't always to mean something bad. You can go up to a friend and say

you and they would say

you back and they wouldnt care :\ or you could be like What the

its just a way of expressing yourself.
Lol its kinda funny how you try to explain cursing in a mature way and then you see all those censors because you keep saying it.

Gross?
I spell checked it and it said gross was spelled wrong for some reason... I wasn't paying much attention so i guess i just hit ok.
Only thing I hate about cuss words is when people use them for no reason. When I say
things, it's because I have to use a more powerful word to make a point. If you're just gonna throw 'em out for no reason, noone's gonna take you seriously when you use them to express something.
