
i need a good battle system for my rpg but i dont know how to make any can u help me or give me any assitance?

... (I guess Chu aint online ;P ) Anyways, I have a feeling other people will ask for more information. What kind of rpg is it like? Lord of the rings? Crash RPG? Do you have any idea of what the battle system would look like? If so, are you asking for help with the triggers? Well, you could use the special abilities system.
Basicaly, when you enter battle, your character is moved to an arena, and it'll create some whatever enemies, which will actualy cast spells.
For player spel casting, the Bunker is the fastest(not having 4 units in a bunker, but 1 bunker for every spell, you just hit '1' and then 'u' for unload), also have some nice terrain that could be used for microing, such as a wall that can be exploited against melee units.
Another thing you oculd do for weapons, is have 3x2 locations covering the entire arena, and create bunkers in them, and then you move the bunkers to an unused part of the map, and when a player buys a weapon, it creates certain units over by those bunkers, and depending on which location in the arena he's standing on, it gives him one of those Bunkers.
I would like the battle system to bring them into an arena and they get to choose wut to do like Attack, Item, Flee, Magic, Guard, etc. if any more...
I don't know anyone who would want to play a turn based game in Starcraft. Your best bet would be doing something like the battle system in the Final Fantasy III map.

Isn't Red2Blue's MMORPG going to be turn based? Turn based might work if you have a really nice system with lots of things you can get and upgrades to enhance your turn.
hmmm i see wut u mean about the turn based combat but i want it to tbc battles so it gives u time to heal and use items and not just die trying to use a item

Well you can use some quick systems like dropping units from a transport. All a player has to do is hit a hotkey number that selects his dropship and then clicks on the unit for potion to use it.

To clarify...
There are currently 2 different types of battle...
1.Shift: players take turns doing combat.
2.Active: players do combat at the same time.
Active is more simplisitc to create... but involves less strategy when playing.
Shift is more complex and involves more strategy... but is much harder to make.
I was gonna post on how to make shift... but I guess the dropship method works... =P
There are also two methods of turn based combat.
Wait: Players and Computers waits for each persons turn.
Active: Players and Computers continuously and simultaneously take their turns. In other words, they don't wait for each other to go next, but they do wait if a player is already doing something.

and theres 2 different battle types for shift.
Side Battle: which is two sides fighting each other.
Matrix Battle: which is units moving along squares to reach other units and fight.
Didn't someone make a someone make a really elaborate turn based fighting map where you could pick from like a mage, a fighter, and something else and there were like all sorts of powerups and things you could buy inbetween fights...
I'll edit this post if I find the map, it might give you some good ideas.
Yes, I did play a map once that had a turn based battle system in it. It was very boring and poorly done, however.

What the hell? If your advanced make one, its just sequincing triggers. Besides there are hundreads of ways to do 'battle systems' or even turn based ones.
Ask a specific question or go to the team projects section where people make stuff for you.
Sorry this topic kinda pisses me off. People who ask for help in this are always vauge and people who give it are forced to make all the creative decisions that effect game play.
