If you were a mod for a day, what would you do? And, if you were a mod for a day, what would that look like? How would you react to someone making spam? Or posting something that doesn't belong on SEN (such as porn)?

Interesting question... What would I do if someone posted porn? Hum...

I would wonder why the hell someone chose to make me mod for a day.

1) If I was a mod for one day I'd probably won't even notice thus all I'll do will me my ordinary 3.24 posts per day.

2) I'd look like the Forurth red colored horse of the apocalipse, how fun.

3) I'd delete the spam I encounter and PM the spammer telling him not to spam, if he keeps spamming I'll give him 25% warn and PM again.

4) If someone posts porn I'll edit his post and remove it.
Than I'll PM the porn poster and warn him.
If he keeps posting porn I'll give him 25% warn.

Actualy, the standard punishment, I think, is straight-up 100% warn and temporary restriction, though, Ive never done it,s o I'm not sure.

Yeah, posting porn is an automatic warn level when I see it.

If I was mod for a day, I'll ban everyone except me and firekame. That way, we can live happily with all the peace and quiet.

If I was mod for a day. I think I'm the person who can best answer this based on experience because in the time before isolated, back in August when it was just yoshi, moose, bolt and clokr_; yoshi put me as a mod be he removed it since most of the newer people complained.

During that one day I was mod I think I moved/closed a couple of topics and thats it.

I was mod of Garbage, Serious Discusion(At that time it was called Off-Topic), General Gameing and Welcome forum. During that time Creative Works didn't exist.

I'd go around and warn people for even the slightest infractions. Repeated spamming an/or porn would warrant banning. A lot of topics would be moved around and/or closed. That's what it would look like if I was mod for a day.

If I saw porn I would suspend them for a week, this is a teen 13+ site.. Not some pornography site. (I'm sure some people wish it was..) I liked the older days of SEN better...

Hmm when I was mod for a day (referring to day as a global mod) I fixed oversize signature, updated the old tips and tricks with new trigger BBcode and lock/moved a few things. Porn would be warn and some sort of something else (not sure what)

There isn't really a standard punishment. I have dealt with it twice, and its a little more complex than "omg he posted porn ban him. First off is the definition of porn it's self, is a 'nipple slip' porn, Is an artistic drawing porn? Or is porn only what is commonly referred to XXX as in images showing intercourse and other sexual acts like that.

How you or SEN defines porn isn’t relevant. It’s the level of inappropriateness and intent of the poster that determines the punishment. For an example Bob post a link to a site with pictures of all the Play Mates in the nude. An appreciate warning for bob would be 25% and a PM firmly stating that that is not allowed. It may be different if he posted the actual pictures. On the reverse side (like last time it happened), A person post extremely inappropriate and very discussing pictures all over SEN with the obvious intent to defile the webpage. A person who does this is deserves an immediate banning from the site. If they don’t intend of helping the community we don’t intend on letting them stay.
Then lastly you have the accidental posting or porn. You might wonder 'how can you accidentally post porn' Well basically you don’t, if someone got a hold of your account and posted porn pictures to be mean then the punishment is different. In an extreme case it would be necessary to ban/suspend the user from SEN. If he later contacts an admin that his account was hacked it would be necessary to review his previous posting habits and other factors to determine weather or not it is true. If it was that user would likely be unbanned and let off only with a warn level 25-50%.

Lastly this is not SEN law. This is just my opinion and the way I would respond to situations of that manor. It doesn’t show how Yoshi, Isolated or any of the other mods would respond to the situation. Although it is likely that they have similar methods.

PS. the responce to spam are similer just toned down cause its not as serious.

If someone posted porn, I'd remove the link, and then say that I'm much hotter than that, and create a link that goes to the Barney FanClub Homepage.

There's got to be one like that right? Then I'd lock the topic and have a nice conversation with the person. *cracks knuckles* I can be very convincing

After that was taken care of, I'd have a conversation with spammers.

And perhaps I'd pin a topic in the serious discussion on Religon, as that seems to be a recurring theme, and they all frickin state the same thing with different words. Or perhaps that is a pet peeve.

Someone spamming - Delete their posts, give them small warn(for small spam only). If it was big spam, give them suspension.

Someone posting porn - Delete their post and ban them from the website.

Other things:
Lock the Bush thread in Serious Discussion then move it to the Garbage forum.
And that's about it.

Oh yea then also spam in topics like Moose and some other mods with 1-line posts like "Moved to assistance >>" etc. and do the action.

If someone posted porn - Create a private forum for that eprson and me were he can post some more

The forum would have to be outside SEN becasue there are about 6 people who can see all forums no matter what. Unless you pay us... a lot...

LoL i always try to avoid doing that, Nomrlay i say something else in addition to that. Although i did it just a few minutes ago. But in my defence i moved the topic to the garbage forum before posting, so i don't end up getting an extra post or minerals for it and more importantly didn't bounce it in the orignal forum.

1. Make everyone wear Fez hats.
2. Make them take pictures of themselves in Fez hats (so they can prove they're wearing them), then have them post them on SEN.
3. Tell spammers that if they don't stop spamming, they don't get any ice cream.
4. Look at the porn first. If I like it, I'll save the pictures/link, then warn them, or ban them, depending on the nature of the pornography.
5. Spam like there's no tomorrow.
6. Buy a chimp, dress it up like a ten year old boy, and have it fight a cat in a tuxedo. Take pictures and post them all over SEN.
7. Smoke (more) weed all day after I confiscate it from various members (yes, mods can do that!).
8. Pretend Tuxedo Templar is an actual Tiger, treat him accordingly.

What'd I'd do if I was a mod... Well, I'd only be a mod until someone that can does ban me from the site for causing too many problems. I'd probably do everything I could to abuse my power and make people mad. Then burn down the site. Of course with me saying this now I'll never become a mod and I'm sure people are going to be watching me now... Woot![/center]

Big, you probably have a lot more chance of being a mod on this site then Theoretical Human will

Mod is not an easy job, you know...
I used to be a mod of some other site like this. It's a bigger one (appox. 1000 users). There we had a flamer called 777 who can post an average of 900 posts per day. Yes, 900 in each forum(we had 12 forums), each the size of 4 MB(A whole laod of picture, copy and pasted, or just a crap load of text, copy and pasted like a zillion times. In one year's time I bought 2 new mouse to replace the worn out ones. (and to think of it, there are 26 mods all chaing mouse as frequent as me) We tried banning him, but he simply registered a new account(revengeof777, superrevengeof777, ultrarevengeof777, superultrarevengeof777) and spam the whole forum again. Eventually we had to close the site because we can't bare it anymore.

It's lucky that in here all the users are friendly. A user friendly site this one is isn't it?
