Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Wondering if there was a way..

I was wondering if there was a way to make computer allies react the way they do in Top vs Bottom map-mode, in UMS. You start out with a computer ally, that does not attack you. But when you attack them with a unit, the computer attacks and kills that unit.

Is there a way I haven't thought up that can bring this to a UMS map confused.gif
Or is it impossible?

You could use some complicated method of attack detection, or you could change alliance status when a unit dies at the hand of you. it would be tricky, though.

I made a map where you are allied with them through a trigger and the same for them. When you attack them they fight back...maybe you cant try that.

I'll have to test that theory Kaboomhahahein.

If it doesn't work, well, I thought I'd have to do something complicated. I guess I'll just go with invincibility.
To bad there isn't a trigger condition that detects what a units life % is at or something of the sort. Adding that in could make Rpgs much easier, and more realistic. Oh well.

It was in my first bound I made as a joke. There was a dragoon wall and if you touch the goons you die. However if you can attack the goons who have 1 hp you can make shortcuts. When my ling attacked it...they fought back.

yeah... this is simple.... whenever the computer is allied to a human, if the human attack the computer, it will unally the player, untill the ally trigger re-does itself. usually its just long enugh to kill that unit.

That would work but you have to take splash into consideration.

ya... burrowed lurkers could really mess those triggers up. Anyways, try putting the computers you want to be allied with the humans into the same force in Starforge 2.2. I don't know if it will work, but I think this is the best chance you have, unless your willing to do a lot of extra triggers.

If you (At the start of the game is what I do) ally them just once, and don't put a preserve trigger, the computer will automatically unally you when you attack one of their units. I am 99% sure they do NOT re-ally you. Testing should solve this problem.

ONly units within a small range will attack you, so if you attack a comps unit on one side of the map, other computer units in other areas will not attack you, its kinda like the unit is defending itself from you, not the whole team

but I have experimented with SCM draft 2 on something like this. When you make a map with SC xtra, the units will try to defend themself if they are attacked. I made a map using just SCMdraft 2, and the units didn't run away nor did they attack me. (I was attacking a archon using a drone. And no, neither one of the units were invincible.)
