I'm looking for a non-sodder, non-disc swap ps2 mod chip. I used to have one for PSX, but this obviously wouldnt work for PS2. I've searched high and low on google and found nothing. Does anyone know where I could find one?

I recomend you stay far away from mod chips. They are a bitch to install for the ps2. But there is a new one coming out that you just push onto the processor or something. That is going to be super nice. But what you should do instead of a mod chip, is buy that hd loader cd, and a harddrive for your ps2. The cd is like thirty bucks and the hdd is whatever you want to spend. You have to have the network adapter though but they aren't much...my ps2 came with one. But ya if you get those things...you can rent a game, copy it onto the ps2 hard drive and return it. and the best part is....it doesn't void your ps2's warrenty!!!!!!!

Ya, seriously, you don't have 100% chances you PS2 will still work, and if you get it installed by another guys he may screw up your PS2. If you do it yourself, you may screw it up. and anyways, why do you want a mod chip? Buy yourself games with that 100$ smile.gif

First of all. I'm not going to break the law and start burning cd's of games I want. I buy a lot of imports and like to play them.

Second, I've sucessfully put in at least 4 mod chips in playstations. Plus I've seen a couple friends do some of the complicated ones.

Now if you read my post, you would know im not looking for one of complicated ones that might screw up your PS2 if you do it wrong. I'm looking for just a simple mod chip that plugs into the PS2 somewhere and works from there. I've seen them for PSX and I've used them for PSX so I was thinking they could exist for PS2.

I'm thinking I'll just get a disc swaper to do it.
