I was wondering if it was possible to do something like this. If you make a campaign, then it tends to be good to have music in it. But it is a big waste of space if you put the msuic file in all the maps. So, I was wondering if it was possible to have the sound file in somethibng like StarCraft > Maps > Campaign1 or something, and tell the people to put everything in that (you need to anyways if you want to be able to play the maps consecutively without constantly choosing it). Is this possible?, or is this just a dream type thing.
I think it is. You can do it with SCMD2 if im not mistaking.
It's possible. Basically it's just like creating a mod because
everyone has to 'put it' somewhere. If someone actaully tested it, you could see. First you would have to test if it was possible to add files in SC MPQ, and if not you would just have to create a mod

Ok, thanks. So, if I were to have a modded campaign, this would be relatively easy?
scmd2 can do that though? So iI could make it without the mod and if people had the same files it would run.
Just one more question then. I know there is a way to crash SC with sounds not being there and stuff. It wouldn't crash if someone played without those sounds in their comp, would it?
No, it wouldn't. (pretty sure). They just wouldn't hear anything. But what is the point of trying to fix the size. Either way they still have to have to have the sounds on their comp (whether by download of map or patched MPQ.)
But say he edits a small detail and rereleases it, it wouldnt take 1 hr to download. I like the idea.
