If you're advanced than you'd like StarForge very much.

My suggestion - SCMdraft2 for terraining, StarForge for square terraining and unit placing, and Xtra or SF for triggers.

Each editor is different and different people have different preferences. It is up to you to decide which editors to use.

Some editors do things better than other editors, it depends on which one you prefer.

True, but I think it's best if you have all 3 and learn how to use them.
I only use SCXE and SF2.2, because I don't see much merit in SCMD2.

I dont like starforge because i cant do triggers on it though... but i guess i could save a map and load it for triggers on another editor.

I use SCMdraft for terrrain. I use starforge for triggers because they are much easier.

It all depends on which editor you use and how much you know about it. If you want to learn how to use starforge then make some tirggers in SCXE then open up starforge and check them.

i guess that is a way to learn, and i should probably try that, because other than triggers i like starforge

Starforge - Triggers, Unit Placement, Locations, Sprites, P9 and Above
SCMDraft 2 - Terrain, Units PLacement
SCXE - I never use this

Then change you skill to Average. if you are "fairly advanced" you are capable of comprehending how to use a text-based trigger editor.

the thing is, i am advanced. Its just i like being able to see the triggers in front of me, it makes it easier, and faster then text based triggers
and i do "comprehend" the text based triggers

Text triggers can be written way faster than the SCXE triggers.
In SCXE you have to click like 10 different Menu's to make 1 trigger.
In Starforge, if you're skilled enough you can just keep writing triggers without cliking once.

I pretty much have all conditions and actions memorized and I can write up lots of triggers without looking at the screen once.

Well u are probably a nerd then.

Nerd? I probably one of the least neriest people on SEN.

I pretty much know them because I just think of the condition/action I want and then write it up in Sf style. I've been suing SF for almost a year now and it's pretty stupid not to know all that code like the back of my hand.

just make yourself learn/like/work with starforge - you'll like it. That's what I did. Now I like it ^_^!

SF is the fastest way to do triggers. Although people like to use the format that SCXE uses where you see all the triggers in a list, I still find that looking for trigger actions and conditions by typing it on SF is faster.
SF is just giving you all the triggers in text form.
In SCXE, you see all the triggers visually.
