Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Slowing and Accelerating Gameplay
Report, edit, etc...Posted by ChaosRyder on 2005-01-24 at 17:23:31
I adress this question to advanced map makers, as I think they are the only one who can answer (You can still answer if your not advanced).

I know that by placing a unit for a selected player (I think it's 161, or something like that, I read in the tutorial database) player you can get the gameplay speed to speed up by 2x, 4x, and 8x (I'm not sure of the last one). But can you activate and desactivate the effect? Like in yoshi's matrix, it's normal speed, but then when you start fiting, it speeds up. How can I do that?

P.S. I'm not asking witch player does that, or how many times it accelerate, just if you can do what I said above, so I don't want people telling me, OH It's player 41, or Oh you can't go 8x.

You cannot change the speed in game. The speed change only changes when a
alternate player and a certain unit is pre-placed.

Plus theres more than x8, and in addition, they haven't found x8 yet.

Then how did Yoshi do it in the map The Matrix?
Take a look at this map and then you'll see. (Map made by: Yoshi da Sniper)

That is not 8x. There is no such thing as 8x it is only 4x.

That map doesn't change speed.

A way to simulate changing speeds would be to create massive amounts of units in an isolated part of the map and have them doing something like attacking or mining or something. Then to make the game lag less, you would simply remove them or some of them.

And it is x4. There is no x8. People may say their maps are x8, x16, or x400 but they are bull censored.gif ting you.
