1) No extended player above 8 can run triggers so no.
2) I don't understand your question... You need to have waits between playing your wav
4) Backups for StarForge are copies of the original file that SF made for you. It backs up your original file every so often. Yes they are playable.
6) Don't use StarForge for wavs and sound files. It generally messes up your map.

I sort of get your Question 2. Your right, if you put the PLAY WAV trigger for the computer, the players can't hear it. That's why you only use the computer to 'wait' and set the switch. You have to make another trigger for each player you want the music playing for something like this: When 'switch' is 'set' play 'wav'.

Question 3: The only way I can think that a map would be that big is to have big .wav files in it.

there is a topic on your Q's #2 You just want the music to loop so that it will play over and over and over till you get bored right?

greenreaper answered your question.

1) Well, isnt there a program called p12 triggers? If so, i think so.
2) Yea, i dont understand ur questoin at all sry
3) Not a SF pro. Ask some SF professionals
4) Back up files for starforge are sort of useless. Use SEN's map back up thing for back ups wink.gif
5) Well think hard and see if you can recall it
6) same as #3

Hrm. Not much help from those posts, is there?

1. do hyper triggers work when you put it in p12?

If you put it in p12, it would only work for that player.

QUOTE

I can't quite understand what you're trying to ask. I think what you were reading was saying that you play the WAV for the player you want to hear it, then you will make a wait trigger for a computer that will prevent the WAV file from looping until the WAV file is done playing.

1 to 4 megabytes? I've never heard of anything like that but you might want to consider posting that question in the Starforge forum. That's why it exists.

4. why are the backup files for forge so small? can you play em?

From what I have seen, the backup files are meerly the same file you just saved. So yes you can save them, and I have no idea why they would be smaller.

It allows you to edit your map so that you can use sounds in starcraft instead of uploading the sounds to your map thus increasing the filesize. You would do that by editing the string. There is a tutorial on this (see my sig for links).

1. Yeah really. Player 12 can't run any triggers, why would hyper triggers be any differant?
2.
3. Most likely the backup files do not store the wavs internally.
4. I havn't used SF 2.2. But i would assume if it uses the .scx or .scm exetention you can play it.
5. Disable the bunker, make sure the player you want to see it as cloaked veiws it with a detector (or equiliant) for a moment.

Yeah, I agree.

Sorry, I thought you ment run triggers that affect player 12 and not actually run them FOR player 12. Because you sure as hell can't make triggers FOR player 12 in any editor other than Starforge, I would say you can't.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by axblader on 2005-01-25 at 17:39:42
hm....
i tried that...no luck...it just makes it diasabled....no diference...

liek this:

i put a bunker

center location "build bunker" on bunker
disable bunker at "build bunker"
creat 1 observer for p1
remove 1 observer for p1
preserve trigger.

i added a little waits in there...but nope....

Make sure the bunker is not owned by you or an ally of yours.

3. The file is bigger because sf doesn't compress sounds. A way to solve it is before you protect and plan to release the map, delete the sounds. Then load them in with the same wavs (same name of the previous wav so sc recognise it with the same string) using WinMPQ. However if u didn't load a sound that was in the trigger and SC tried to play it, it may crash. (Happened once when I deleted a sound directly in sf and played the map)

1. Don't think so
2. you can't hear
3. Starforge is really laggy and complex so it's really weird working
4. the backup files are small because starforge is so complex
5. yeah...
6. not sure what that means lol

DemonKnight, it looks like you're new. But just a word of notice... those questions are answered and you are just repeating information or giving out incorrect information based on no logical judgement.

The backup files are small not because it's complex, it wouldn't make sense. And plus, they aren't actually 'small'.. he said it was small because it was around 60kb compared to his 1mb non back up map. The reason it is small is because the backup doesn't backup sound files. You can play it as long as the '.bak' at the end doesn't make the name too long.

hm....then...i can release my back up lol...

but when i played the backup i heard music....the ones i put in.

and to the bunker question:
oh i never knew that.
so its lie kthis

i make a depot

center loc " " on depot
give 1 depot owned by current playter to p7*****
remove depot for p7
creat 1 bunker for p7
creat 3 marines for p7 at " "
AI script "go in bunker"
disable
creat 1 observer for current playter
remove 1 observer for current player
give 1 bunker ownd by player 7 to current player
preserve trigger

*****dont need?

i hope this works helpsmilie.gif
