Well as a result of my parents taking my computer away from me because I'm getting B's (oh censored.gif ing no) I won't be on SEN for a while, if ever again. This is quite simply a farewell.

Goodbye,

Why the hell do you want them to stay the hell out of your life?
What are you going to gain from that?
You may censored.gif right now about how you can't use the internet for awhile, but without parents the least of your concerns would be internet.
"You don't understand, FireKame..." I do understand.
I understand that most (not saying all) of you come from middle class suburbia. You don't go to school only because you get a free meal, and you don't do double shifts because your parents are in jail.

So suck it up.

People are worse off than me. Who gives a censored.gif ? I know that full well. Luckily, I'm not in a position that they are because my parents are not fools and aren't jailed or dead. As such, and because we are in an above average financial setting, there is no reason why I shouldn't be allowed to be on a computer. They think this is going to help get my grades up, but I didn't care about school before and I'm certainly not going to try harder because they punish me. I am simply going to stop doing anything that needs to be done around the house that I would normally do before. They have nothing left to take away from me, so let them censored.gif ing try to make my life more miserable. I just don't give a censored.gif any longer.

I at least agree with you that I know there are people worse off than me, but I don't care. I don't agree with you on the rest of that post, though. The quickest way to get your computer/internet access back would be to just get good grades and continue to do whatever aroudn the house, happy parents = easier life for you.

Act spoiled? What can they possibly do to me? They have slowly taken away anything that i enjoyed, but this is just simply going too far. In my free time I will have absolutely nothing to do. And also, my parents were never happy. In 5th through 7th grade I got straight A's and "excellent" everything. They still thought that I needed to work harder, and were pressuring me to skip a grade. How many of your parents have done that? And no, the computer is being either sold or given to a relative- it's like they have planned this out fully already. If they go through with this tonight I won't be able to get back on other than with friends until we buy a new computer. That won't be soon.

[center]My parents don't give a censored.gif about what I do. They're got bigger problems. Me sitting in my room tattooing myself isn't gonna hurt them, so they don't care. Plus, I got kicked out of school, so they can't complain about grades. I know, I know, my life is gonna be hell when I get kicked outta the house. But I'm ready for it... I don't care how my life turns out, it doesn't matter to me. I don't think parents, or anyone should have more power over my life, than me.

But I'm too mental and don't apply myself in school and get F's (Very low percentages, too [8-59% is my range].), D's, and sometimes B's in easy classes. Oh yes, and the always A in phy ed. But if any of you think you got it rough, try living where I do. Sorry I failed to mention that I scored better on the PSAT's in 10th grade than 97% of juniors and 98% of sophmores with a score of 200/240 (1300 on old SATS, 2000 on new SATS). I also took the SAT's in 7th grade and scored higher than 65% of graduating seniors that year in my state with a 1080. I probably should have gotten some morewrong so perhaps they will think I'm stupid and can't get higher grades.

B [center](89% - 80) [/center][right]Above Average[/right]
C [center](79% - 70%) [/center][right]Average[/right]
D [center](69% - 60%)[/center][right] Below Average[/right]
F [center](59% - 0%)[/center][right] Failure[/right]

[center]Okay, now where do you fall in with that? Well, if you get grounded for getting B's, which are above average, then you probably get A's. Which is the best. Tell them to stop being censored.gif es about school and your grades are good. Unless you go to one of those gay private schools, and your parents think you're some genius and you are a social misfit, then who cares. And that took forever to make.[/center]

At our school it's really weird,
CODE
A  (94-100)
B+ (90-93)
B  (84-89)
C+ (70-73)
C  (64-69)
D+ (60-63)
D  (54-59)
F+ (50-53)
F  (Below 49)
Report, edit, etc...Posted by FaZ- on 2005-01-26 at 21:30:45
That is really odd... our school follows the norm:
CODE
[CODE]
A+: 97-100
A: 93-97
A-: 90-93
B+: 87-90
B: 83-86
B-: 80-83
C+: 77-80
Blah im lazy (skipped)
D-: 60-63
F: 50-59
F-: 0-50

With an F- you become too stupid to attend summer school. =/
Report, edit, etc...Posted by chuiu on 2005-01-26 at 22:20:33
When I was in school, it was:

100 - 94 = A
93 - 86 = B
85 - 77 = C
76 - 70 = D

And anything lower was intolerable. Meaning you were forced to re-take tests or the class if you got a grade lower than a 70.

Holy Hell. B's and you're getting grounded? My mom only grounds me when it's because I'm in danger of more then bad grades. For me, it's as long as I get passing grades, and she's fine with them. Personally, I've tried and am trying(apparently not very hard), but that's just as a 'just in case' I don't pass the CRT's and get allowed into High School despite I's(my school's equivelant of F's and D's, I'm too lazy to go into it...)

Lol. My mom grounded me over the Summer for getting suspended on the last 3 days of school because I was being a mild smart-ass(holy hell, I've seen kids get nothing for being straight out rude to a teacher). And, sicne I was fat, I could get comp time by going outside and running around the really-really big pond in the apartment complex I live in, along with not drinking soda, junkfood, and a lot of other things. And she kept making more and more rules. And reducing the amount of time I earn for comp from such. Which just backfired, because eventualy I jsut became a pig that sits in bed all day except to drink soda and eat top ramen.

Studying? I have never studied academic subjects outside of school before. The only studying I do is for personal curiosity, and often I leanr things that I don't need to know for the tests. I don't pay much attention in class. And yet I get above-average scores. What kills my grades is my inability(and don't tell me I can if I try harder; I know that) to do, maybe, 7, boring, thoughtless assignments outside of school each day, which would use up several hours of my limited time; about 8 hours maybe, 1/3 of a day.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by notnuclearrabbit on 2005-01-27 at 03:00:28
[center]I too have never studied for academic reasons. I like to put it like this: "I like to learn, but not to be educated."
Anway, parents put too much emphasis on somewhat meaningless things. Who really cares if your hair's too long, or your room's too dirty? In the end, does that really matter? Who would want to be remembered as 'having good hair, and a clean room'? Most parents aren't helping their kids by doing the things they do. if I were getting B's when I was still in school, my parents would have gone crazy. The highest grade I was getting in a non-academic class was a D-. Grades mean nothing. Alot of the time, 'class participation', and junk like that, is factored into your grades. Why? Shouldn't they only be testing you on what you know? The whole school system is censored.gif ed!.

Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mune'R0x on 2005-01-28 at 14:00:31
[center]I've never studied at all for something in school. I usually do good on tests because I'm just naturally smart or something like that. The only reason I do crappy in school is because I don't apply myself to do good on big projects. I usually wait till that day in study hall to finish my projects. That's why my parents get pissed. First grading period of this year I got D+, D+, D, D, D, B. My parents called me stupid and said I can do better than that. Screw them. Now I'm going off on some crazy tangent on how my parents hate me because I do bad in school and do drugs and drink and they know it but don't have any proof to accuse me of it. Bleh. censored.gif school.[/center]

Parents took the computer out of my basement and put it into my dining room. I think they think I'm jerking off or something but w/e cause i can play games and censored.gif now. smile.gif If they stayed out of my life I can still be in theirs and steal food from the house and censored.gif . And I do have a job at 16 ($7.50 an hour biotches. =) which I could easily make $250 or $300 a week if I dropped out of school- I think that covers an apartment+food for 1. Anyway yes they said it was because I was not trying hard enough in school specifically. I don't do any drugs or drink or go to wild parties or censored.gif like that. Any time at home is spent on my computer or asleep simply because my parents bore the living hell out of me.

Also on another note, a school near mine is offering an open course in C++ programming for $295 and its 30 hours over 10 weeks. Anyone that has taken a course or learned this language please comment.
