I am playing the Battle for Middle-Earth, and it is a stunning game. I have never seen anything close to this in terms of... well... a game!

Hmm. I'm pretty sure that a review is when you talk about the gameplay and features of a game...ANYWHO. The game is a change but it was hardly stunning to me. I mean ya, its totally fun; a blast to play. But certain aspects of it are so freaking lame. Mainly the way you are forced to build a base. I mean it goes along with the LotR universe and suits the game...I just don't like it. A big part of a real time strategy game is base building. IT adds to the strategy of the game so much that I think it is insane that it is removed. But I guess that they wanted you to pay super attention to batteling and field tatics that they dumbed down base building. I think that the game is a bit unbalanced. Archers totally dominate everything. If you upgrade them to level two and upgrade their arrows. They kill mostly anything before it gets close. And some of the spells are too good. Like, one of the human has a wooping four summon spells. You can summon like 10 elves, 14 horses, 2 huge eagles, and some treants all at the same time and dominate the enemy totally. The badguys have the Balrog which, if used right, can kill every building in a players base before its time expires. The campaign is totally fun but how the units are carried over make it mind numbingly simple. All in all I give the game a 6.5 out of 10. Its fun for a while. Then it kind of gets old and annoying. The high points in the game to me where the great graphics and the awesome awesome sound. I felt like I was in the movie sometimes =D. But ya, a definate must try.

Really? An RTS ? So you have to make your armies? Do you make one unit indivually? or whole armies at a time? The graphics on it look stunning though, but sadly I don't my comp (Dell) only lets certain video cards and I don't know what they are.

Ya you build groups at a time. Like if you build an orc, a little group of about seven or eight comes out. You can also merge two different groups. Like merge orc archers with orc melee so they are one big unit. This is good when the enemy attacks your archers and when they get in close the melee can kill them. This gives the archers more time to pick off the attackers and it protects them from getting ripped apart. Without this tatic you would take more damage because your melee would be fighting the enemy sooner and your achers would get off less shots so your melee would take more hits. I however don't like this tatic. When you merge the melee units, they become totally useless except for their task of protecting the archers. If you are fighting another group of archers they just stand there. Or if you attack a base they won't hit anything even if they are in range. It's pretty damn gay.

I slightly don't like the aspect that BfM-E feels a bit too simplistic for my taste.
