3) Whatever you wish, but don't make your onw tileset by modding
5) Game would be the better choice but Editors might be used as in my case.
6) If it never crashes in Starforge then say so and it will be rated in SF but I advice that you don't do it.
7) Yes, most of this is just logical asumptions you could've just made

1 - No.
2 - No.
3 - No.
4 - Yes.
5 - Game.
6 - No. If it crashes once, at any time, even if it's a 10% chance of crashing, don't use it.
7 - Yes. You should read the thread itself before asking questions.
8 - Actual terrain. Generally, when you make a good terrain piece, the minimap will show it, and it usually looks good anyway. Never judge your terrain with the minimap. If you have to, cover the minimap, or completely ignore it. The minimap doesn't make your terrain piece look better or worse.

Okay listen dude, i appriciate your support on answering questions, but please leave that to the judges. You've got some credibility issues in the judging panel. When they get judges for contests, they find people who are respected individuals in the field.

Get music experts to judge music and terrain experts to judge terrain.

No offense to anyone on the panel, but none of them have exactly established themselves as great terrainers.

Hall of Fame has unoriginal terrain. The only terrain I see thats done many times is waterfall.

I don't have to be a judge to post in a thread. I don't have to be a judge to help people.

I answered all of those questions correctly.

Let me explain.

QUOTE
here's a list of questions that i want to be clear on an answer for:
1-Is there a limit of File Size?
2-Is there a limit on Dimension Size?
3-Do we have to use specific tilesets?
4-Can we use units as part of the terrain?
5-Will the terrain be viewed in an Editor or in a game?
6-Can we use a unit or sprite that MAY crash sometimes yet other times not?
7-Is this too many questions?
8-Are we going for a nice Minimap look (like in a picture) or are we going for actual terrain (the look in the main window) [sorry if that doesnt make sense to you]

We see here, the file size limit and dimension size limit was stated earlier in the thread.
QUOTE(beer)
There is no minimun or maximun size limit.

The third was not stated in the first post, so there is no specific tileset required. (Common sense?)

The fourth is just common sense as well. Terrain can't only be limited to sprites and tiles. Plus Beer stated it earlier in the thread by saying
QUOTE(Beer)
If want an example, go into the Terrain forum and into the Terrain Hall of Fame(pinned topic), and there will be some examples in there.

Some, if not, most examples contain units in the terrain.

For the fifth, Beer just stated that only himself would view it in an editor. It's also quite obvious that you HAVE to view it in the game, as any editor will not give any desired effects for all types of terrain.

For the sixth, hello captain obvious. I was merely suggesting that he shouldn't, because having a map crash 80%, 50%, or even 10% of the time you play it, JUST to play it, isn't a good thing.

The seventh isn't even a question related to this topic.

The eighth was just stupid. This is a terrain contest not BMP to SCM generator contest.

So you're saying correctly answered questions, quicker, isn't allowed? You're saying I can't post or something?

Listen, i was getting on to death for answering questions asked by the judges, Pirate...I understand what your saying but, not everyone does a huge rpg of 1c1 terrain. You said it yourself you spend 2 years on that map..and well for the rest of us we can do the same stuff in 1 day. I will admit you started this terrain trend, but don't say we don't know what we're doing..we know more then you think.

Look at thepyramid, where the wall bends. A "platform" along the side of the pyramid switches from below the one to the right of it to above it.

I don't think we need until the later part of next month to do a terrain, frankly. You should lower the contest deadline a bit, and get some decent prizes.

Alternatively, you could have the prize be simply something like the SEN team using it to make their next map, or something like. That way there'd be a more specific point to this.

We could do that without question. Although I probably think we shouldn't do it with whole maps, but in example like a nice waterfall or bridge could be used in one of our maps or future maps.
(For SMT Team Members, I'm thinking of using it on CaptainWill's Assasins map)

We're looking for originality too beer, don't let that get ahead of yourself. As far as i'm concerned if a waterfall were to win it would be DK's cuz it was his original idea. I'm done with these remakes of it, none are as good as the original. So remember we judge alot on originality.

Ah, what the hell? I'm in.

Note that I'm using StarEdit and not one of the more comprehensive editors (Mostly, I'll be doing this as terrain practice), so I won't get all the sprites or anything in.
