Have you ever played Boktai for GBA?

Whenever you defeat a vampire/boss the first time, you have to take its corpse (in a casket) to outside the dungeon, where you purify it using complex sunlight machines (which is another kind of battle itself), because that's the only way to truly kill it. Your vampires aren't affected by sunlight, but you could use a similar idea for bosses -- even though you defeat them in a fight it's not completely over.

In Boktai, for example, you had to carry the casket back with a chain. The casket could still move, though only slightly, so if you didn't hold it for long it would start to shift away. And if you stood next to the casket for too long, it would lash out and hurt you. When you got the casket to the purification machine, you were essentially fighting the vampire's demonic soul instead of it's body. 2-4 machines were shooting rays of sunlight at it, while the vampire would fight back with rays of darkness (which could disable the machines), and the player had to constantly re-energize the machines while still avoiding whatever the vampire threw at him.

I think if you could do something like that, boss battles would be a lot more interesting!

Alright sorry for the late post, but I was on vacation tongue.gif . Anyway, My idea for a boss would be one of the professors that was working on the virus was experimenting with one that was extremely unstable. He could not get anyone to be a test subject so he decided to use himself. At first the virus didn't affect him, but over time he began to mutate, and become insane. The Virus killed off many brain cells, and now he is on a rampage. He is immune to almost every weapon, and the only way to kill him would to be pierce his stone skin with a stake through his heart (original ain't it wink.gif ). Explosions, and such render him unconscious for a little while, this could be used to stop him long enough to get the spike through him.

Well there is my idea, you can use it if ya want, tweak it if ya need, and thanks for letting me share it biggrin.gif

I have worked out alot of the glitches and with the terrain done I majorly just have to put in triggers and storyline. Once I get major testing done I will be hopefully releasing this asap. Also this has kinda become priority #2 since I am working more and more on my Doom 3 map trying to push that and finish it up. But a really good thing came out of this map is the way I operated doors. Basically all the doors operate on 2 locations a player and about 8 trigs. So I implemented that into Doom 3 and it saved alot of locations.
