I'm really begining to hate caves, as I worked on cutting down the blockiness of the bottom of the entrace. I have concluded that there is no peice that fits there that people could walk through. Anyways, heres a picture of the cave.
[attachmentid=5913] I didn't mean to, but it reminds me of qPirateKing's terrain. I just wanted the cave to look spidery.

That still look alsome, I think im going to include it in my RPG, I dont think the botton of entrance look blocky at all, beats moving the unit with triggers biggrin.gif

Niiice, Rantent. Keep it up.

It does look good. I'll put aside my sprite angst long enough to say that.

Wow, that is impressive. Just how many sprites did you have to use, though?

That cave is good but should have a little work on it and aren't caves dark?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by chuiu on 2005-03-04 at 01:32:20
Looks to be about 40 sprites.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Rantent on 2005-03-04 at 02:16:16
Acually it's only 32, counted them myself. And the cave is dark, that picture is a compilation of a bunch of shots where the marine was in different places, so you could see it all. I'm glad you like it. happy.gif

Jesus man you are an excellent terrainer. You definately deserve your works in the hall of fame.

That's pretty freakin' good too. Nice work qPirateKing. You always know how to do terrain creations right.

Ratent you have the best terrain on this site. Nuff said. Any terrain projects you're working on at the moment?

Rantent's fault...har har drool.gif
He inspired me, but I wanted to be different....
"Daft Punk is playing at ma house, umaa house!"

The house and front door look pretty cool, but how is that a garage. And what is up with the toilet O_o?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Rantent on 2005-03-05 at 23:08:12
qPK, I like the drop from one floor to the other at the top. Never would have thought of that. I can envision that this temple idea would come out looking like the gerudo fortress in Zelda OOT.

Grizzly, I love the toilet!

And finally krazy, you wanted a map? This is where I tested most of my ideas for terrain. Although most of them are either unfinished or worthless, there are a few good terrain peices.

Ive just spotted one of the greatest ramps I've ever seen.. why havent you screen shotted this? This is the most blended raised jungle ramp ever!!

EDIT:
Oops I feel like an idiot. after about and hour searching for those pieces in SF i found it to be a setup in the master tile palete. How come this isn't a doodad in the normal extra editor? and how come i have never seen this before in my life?

Anyway, playing with this new found glory, i discovered raised jungle to be very blendable; in a nutshell i had this.

ADDITION:
Qpirate and Rantents temples remind me of fusion frenzy when you have to smash the bugs in that subway like area, you could make a fun game with that. Or am i thinking of super mario party? confused.gif

Lol, TriggaMasta, that post made my day! (I gave you karma, just for that!)
Anyways, I thought more people knew about that doodad... Just too bad it can't go on the other side of the terrain.
BTW: I really like what you pulled off there with the hole in the middle.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by TRiGGaMaSTa on 2005-03-06 at 02:06:21
Lol thanx and thnx for the karma.. i really felt stupid, how could i have never seen that. also while i was looking for those tiles.. i found plantless ruins... prefectly intact.. they are between rwocks and raised jungle i think. little 8 by 2 sections no one would ever see. people should use htis more than ruins.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Rantent on 2005-03-06 at 02:34:59
Those are high ruins, just to let you know. mellow.gif

And uhh... I just made this, I'm not quite sure what it is, but I'm kinda tired.
[attachmentid=5994] In the game it acually looks pretty good, here I don't like it.

Well rantent you've sparked a pretty nice thread, there's been atleast 5 screen shots by other people. Very nice.

TRiGGaMaSTa thats some pretty good terrain you just posted and the thrid one is good enough to be in the Hall of Fame.

What I really like though, is the way that you made it posible for a unit on grass to go up to jungle.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Rantent on 2005-03-06 at 19:46:39
The grass to raised jungle is old news, sorry to say Beer. It can be found in the doodad part of starfoge's terrain palette.
