Well, I came up with this a few days ago, right after the end of that temple making contest.
[attachmentid=5805]

It uses NO sprites as of yet, and I made a few other shots of what you can do with idea.

Lol, I dont think the temple making contest ended yet, actually, Im not sure if it even is going to end, because that topic has been idle for like 5 days!!

That temple looks pretty nice, Just one thing, I think you should replace the top of it with something other than high dirt, because then it will look more like a temple, right now it just looks like a very high cliff with doors. But other than that I think its alsome. biggrin.gif

I like the staircase on the 3rd one. The rest is pretty good as well.

BEUTIFUL AND BRILLIANT!

That looks awesome, but in the future surround the used area with dirt or whatever it uses so we can see how it blends into the game, and not see space/null tiles. Very nice job on all three. I liked the blending of the ramp into the temple door doodad myself.

After playing with it for a little bit, I finally have a better temple. it uses 13 sprites, but moast of them are for show. I still dont like how it has a few blocky parts, but I won't be improving it again any time soon.

That's beatiful. Beer, hall of fame?

Man, that's really cool. I especially like the way you made the ramp connect from dirt to dirt really cleanly. I think this is the best terrain work I have seen in this entire forum. Low on sprites, too! I absolutely MUST make one of these for myself. Good job!

Jesus Christ man. *hall of fame*

Now for my response, read what pirate said and take of make one soon cuz I'm not gonna take the time yet smile.gif

I'll prolly make a brush of one though.

Meh, The first one is looking like a big Jungle Car wash theme.

The 2nd is okay I guess, a bit blocky.

The 3rd is fine nice idea of stair using.

The last one OwnZ TheM alL!

WOW, thats a VERY nice temple, and its orginal, very nice, good job. I like how you made the ramp come to the door, the terrain is very nicely done. Its perfect. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Damn, that looks so real like it was meant to be done with the regular editor.
I see no unmatching tiles whatsoever and you barely used sprites, you only used one and it wasn't to cover up something. It also looks like the 3 levels of cliffs are real.

A definite Hall of Fame.

BTW: Clokr_, you can put good things in the Hall of Fame too you know. You can edit any post.

Yikes! w00t.gif
Thanks for all of your input. I might have to continue making some terrain if it's that good.

That is sweeeet! You've given me an idea for a map. I'll give you credit for the terrain idea. First I want your permission to use it tho biggrin.gif
Yup...Tis THAT good w00t.gif

You see I always wanted to make a map that seemed as if the players were literally going "up" in levels. This terrain method will help that a load.

I like the newest one you posted, I think it was the cleanest and would fit best in a map. The way you stuck a second floor into it is pretty cool, I hope you don't mind if you see it in a map of mine.

Perfect Ratent, this is the best terrain i've seen posted in this forum. Not only does it look nice (best looking to date.), The best part is that it doesn't involve 50 sprites which is one of the biggest flaws with most of the others. keep it up. good job.

Grizzly about your question, it doesn't really matter to me whether or not you put credit for me or not, you can use the idea. Also I would like this moment to release a beta idea of a wallk-through cave. It isnt finished yet, but it looks pretty good. It has to use sprites, but it only uses 8.

These are probably not as good as my temple, but I could see uses for them.

OMG, finaly a cave without teleporting or anything...
perhaps you can use that to turn it into a normal cave, with highdirt surounding lowdirt.
Just as an entrnce and not a walkthroughable wall. which is what it is more like
