If you are sitting at your comp and starving yourself that solves the mystery to why you are skinny.
I don't starve myself...
Sometimes if I'm working on a map I don't eat for the whole day... That could be some contributor....
It seems nowadays that people are blaming other things for making them fat. First, it was fast food, then junk food, and now all this other crap. Technically, it's YOUR fault that you're fat. As everyone else has stated, it's the large consumption of calories and lack of exercise that makes you fat. I'm overweight but that's because I eat a lot and don't exercise. Genetics does play a small role, mainly in how your body processes food, but it doesn't mean that the person is doomed to become fat. There's a whole mess of factors that can make a person fat, but video games isn't one of them.
ur fat cause ur fat. ur fat cause ur born wit it and/or lazy and overactive in eating! Its like TV, people can watch tv like mad, but some people could watch TV like even more mad, get no exercise, and eat till they fall asleep! Then eat when they wake up!
Im sinny and i just played video games a coupla days ago from 5:00 PM to 2:20 AM... and i woulda kept playing if there was no such thing as a tommorow... and grumpy, asleep people who dont like video gamers...
The genetics stuff is kinda off topic. Maybe 1 in 100 people are fat because they got screwed in genetics. The rest are just plain fat. If you're complaining about being weak willed you have to fix that. A weak will is probably going to hurt you later in life, when you get a job, when you meet a hot girl etc etc... You need to make a change in your life now, and develop strong will power. Always remember what my math teacher said "Never give up! Never surrender!" XD
Good luck,

I play games often when i want to and often exercise.
i'm not considered fat or anything. but to people who eat alot and stay on the comp 24/7 has problems

Video games don't make you fat You make yourself fat by not eating rigth and not being active.
Im skinny

But i was really out of shape until i started running cross country and track

Saying video games makes you fat is like saying guns kill people. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Video games don't make people fat, people make themselves fat.
For me, gaming does not make me fat. I basically spend most of my day on the computer, and all that inactivity hasn't caused me to gain a single pound. Of course, it may not apply to others.
Unwillingness to exercise, not gaming, is the root of obesity!

That doesn't exactly mean that you are healthy...

I concur. I exercise at least 45 minutes 4-5 times a week, and even though I weigh 200, I am in no way fat. I also come home and sit on the computer for 5-6 hours a night, and all day on the weekends. If you can't go and give up an hour of your time away from your computer each day, then there is something wrong with you.
I feel in a way it does contribute. I play games like 8 hours a day, but I can still go outside for six hours and play sports or go hicking with my friends. I only contributes to obesity to those kids who stay at home play games and eat. Like if you play a game for 6 hours and you eat at the same time you might forget you are eating and just keep going. If you don't go outside every now and then you might get used to just sitting around and become lazy. Which inturn would inspire usless hunger and lead to the road of obesity. I mean not to offend anyone by what I speak. If you feel I am wrong please tell me so.
Thank You
Not me.
I think it's your metabolism, and what you do when you don't play.
I live on a psudo-farm so I have many manual laobr chores, my brother does too.
He has a better metabolism, so he is skinny. I don't so I was build kinda oafish. But then i started eating better and working out and now i buff, people wouldn't guess that i am a huge dork.

Or.. maybe you live in you house and the daily chores, (Such as having to walk to go to the bathroom.) to you, seem as hard as working. Jk

The video plays is not the immediate cause of grossisement of the population it is only one of the bus causes if you to eat malbouffe has each meal to fatten you. if you to fatten you must make more effort to move. If you must make more effort to move you become to some extent loose and preferred you the tiring sport moin thus one prefers to be done prepared has to eat in one Mc donalds then the vicious circle starts again

W..... T..... H....!!???
That made almost no sense at all, grossisement isn't even a word...
i use a translator because my first language is not the english. And this don't translate all. sorry if my orthography is bad.
ADDITION:
I have to correct and its about that gives
The video games is not the immediate cause of fattens population it is only one of all the causes. If you to eat shit ( ex: Mc Donalds, Burger King...) his will make you fatten. if you are larger you will have to make more effort to move. If you must make more effort to move you become to some extent loose and preferred you the tiring sport (virtual) and to eat fast food easier than of will be prepared either even a good meal health. And to remain in front of video Games will make him preferred to rather practise sport on its console than in the real world.
I think the key word is moderation. And yes, playing video games without moderation, would definitely contributeto gaining weight.
While you alone have a choice of what you are going to do next about a possible weight issue, realize that it is not the end of the world and that you can do something about it. You've taken the first step in recognizing your inactivity and now you need to focus on how you're going to change. The first step I think would be to make small changes. Limit yourself to how much video game time you spend in a realistic way. Going cold turkey by locking up your computer may work for some, but overall I'd say this will only be a temporary solution and you'll probably experience a yo-yo affect. Whatever it is that you enjoy "outdoors" sport related or not "just do it".
Also seek information/advice on how you can improve your diet. Losing weight is no easy task. Rather than "blame" yourself and think that it is "your fault", concentrate on a new attitude and above all make small changes as the old cliche MODERATION IS THE KEY TO SUCESS really does apply to any kind of life changing regiment. You alone have the power to do this, but don't be ashamed to ask for help.
Good luck to you...
