Staredit Network -> Concepts -> ONe Location Bound

Yeah. In order to make a no-location bound, you would have to omit anywhere. It's just overlooked because StarEdit always throws it in there, and then you would assume that it isn't a location.

You can make 255 locations because Anywhere takes up 1.  There is a total 256 possible. (multiples of 2, remember?)

there is no locaiton 63 and the last one is 254.
0-62 and 64-254 = 254

Nice bound.
I did have a question though bolt.
Why didn't you just give away the units to a different computer player after each completion?

Giving the units would have allowed for you to "reset" the game after the first interval by giving them back to the computer controlling the explosions..

Cause i made it a long time ago and thats the way I thought of it first? Or maybe i didn't want to use up a anther human player slot. I have thought of doing that before, I have also thought of making a 1 location bound that doesn't move left to right or any other general direction.

Correct, there is no location 63, it is Anywhere. Not correct, the last location you can make is 255. Starting a location 0, including 63 as Anywhere, and ending at 255 is 256.

Open up staredit and test it if you dont believe me. But please stop spreading misinformation and insisting it's right.

EDIT: What the crap. Ok I'm wrong. But for some reason yesterday when I went into staredit and started making locations, I placed Location 255 and then the popup saying I could have a max of 255 showed up. I double clicked it to make sure it said 255. I even checked the ones before it and they were 254, 253, etc.

But today I do it again and it stops at 254. I KNOW I wasn't imagining things yesterday because I freakin' tripple checked that shit. Whatever.

Sorry, it's 255 total, not 256.

Ya know... chuiu's personality undergoes major changes throught the day. Notice that.

Yea... how did you guys start talking about locations...

My major question is...WHY? WHY THE HECK DO YOU REMOVE THE 63rd LOCATION AND USE IT AS ANYWHERE?

Couldn't they have just created another location? or started with 1 or 0? Why complicate things like that?

Before the expansion set Staredit only had "64" locations. When the expansion was released and with 1.05 the editor was updated to use up to "255" locations.

Anywhere was already designed as the 63rd location in the earlier staredit. So they left it the same when they allowed you to create more, so now it skips over the number 63.
