Well the platform tileset has a space brush, but I'm thinking like if you were in free fall or flying a plane, or playing some sort of werid floating continent or something.

WE MUST HAVE A NUDIST COLONY!!!1

That sky MUST be used. It is Über Gosu to the max!

That sky remembers me the sea or a lake reflecting the sky.

Hum that sky is cool but a damn waste of sprite... HUm what about pathcing the whole sc in a mod without any damn limit (I know these are hard coded lines) and spread it to the whole community with a new editor!

Today Sc... Tomorrow Uncle Ben's recipe...

Oh yeah as for a crater, I've been trying to do stuff every now and then with like a type of canyon or cave. I was basically using mud with the high ruins floor drops (the broken parts of ruins showing the floor underneath). It's pretty blocky though.

Here's an example of what i was doing ... it needs a lot of work but ingame it's not that bad.

i know how to make a mod like that... just edit the space terrain, SI (i think he made scmdraft) made a space editor, it works great but its pretty confusing and u need to know to make clouds and stuff with the limited colors of the pallete... but the mod would be easy to use cuz u would only have to replace 1 file...

I almost made a program that does that after SI made his and its not that limite. The "limited" palette has the same of colors that any graphic in SC can use, so everything is drawn with that "limited" palette and it doesn't look that bad...

The problem would be the background, wich would be black. Also if the clouds are too big it might lag the SC engine.

High Shale with a clutter of 10-15% looks nice as an asteroid/moon surface.

[attachmentid=7740]

The sky is amazing, and the best part is that it can be used with any tileset!

The main problem with sprites isn't the limit, it's that it lags a lot...

I made A Hydroelectric Dam, If you want me to make a powerplant with it, i guess i could do that.

EDIT: Currently editing to imrpove on emptyness, the screenshots will be reposted later.

It truly amazes me how people put less and less time into their terrain and how they don't emphasize in details.

It's truly sad to announce that none of these will be inducted to the Hall of Fame.

Beer, Is my Dam that bad? I actual thought i did okay, besides the fact it looks alot like Heimdals.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Turin on 2005-04-13 at 20:03:51
Your dam looks like it could be made without extended terrain. Just a few doodads and sprites. And no blending at all. You need to actually spend time on making it, not just the ideas.

I guess I will try some new stuff, I need a diversion from all these school projects...

It isn't bad but the fact that so much more could be done with it. I see lots of empty space in there which could be used. Maybe you can make that powerplant.

I know yours is better than Heimdals, but his was some time ago and I adopting the policy of raising the bar to get in as more and more better pieces are done.

This nighttime shrubbery looks awesome, I can't even make out which building you used to make the shadow, nor the building itself as a shimmer. (Is there a shimmer?)

So much for the theory of positive feedback.

I thought that very many of the simple concepts in here are great. It's not how much time you spend, it is the idea that counts. If someone can create a perfect 8x10 area that obviously could be made bigger, why waste the time for appearance? Unless an idea is going to be put into an actual map, if we already know the blendings are possible why waste the time painstakingly adding them? The realization of ideas and concepts and visualizing what they see are the important parts.
