Thanks, good luck on your Antara Total Chaos RPG map. I will now work on triggers and then release a demo for you all to play smile.gif

And don't keep posting: Hurry up and finish up the demo, omg..., etc.

I still need to play games after all, I'm not a map making machine.

!~WOW~!

This map sounds very kickass biggrin.gif I can NOT wait to play it. All I can say is that you put alot of thought into it and it sounds like alot of time/effort into it. It is creative and and all around cool map. Good luck with it. Sounds time consuming. The tile blend is a little square, but that's all that's wrong with it (Not that thats a bad thing)

Where are you going to post final version? I gotta have it when its done.

Actually, I thought of this idea when I was watching a anime about Samurais. So I thought: There are many samurais maps, but they all well... kinda sucks. Therefore, I decided to start a RPG about samurais.

Alright, triggers for the Makairikujou Hitoya(Makairikujou Prison) done.

The map production will be paused again cause' I'll be visiting my grandmother.
Will be back in like 3-4 days. I'll be going at 27th April.

I thought of similar battle system before.
But how do you plan to implement it for more than 1 player? will you have copy of same battle field for each player? I had 8 battle field ideas, so if I made copy for all 3 players it would take alot of space and locations -_-...

You can try to share battle field with 3 players but that would seriously mess up some battles, like that old ff3 map.
EX: when p2 gets into boss battle, and p1 is still in battle field fighting normal enemy...p1 gets screwed over -_-...because now he have to fight boss.

Just juggestion, but you might want to fix some name of your character, some just doesn'tmmake any sense in japanese. for example, "pai" does not mean acid or anything related to acid. (Not that many ppl will actually understand japanese so...maybe it doesn't matter)

Player 1 controls the movement so that all 3 players will enter the same battle at same time, be victorious at same time, or be defeated at same time, watever...

I didn't say "pai" was acid. The old name "Dokupai" was made by mixing the Japanese word of "poison" and "acid".

Poison can be said in japanese as either:

doku, dokubutsu, dokuyaku, gaidoku, poizun

Acid can be said in japanese as either:

sui, suppai, san

So by mixing "Doku" and "Suppai" , I got the results of Dokusuppai. After that, I deleted a few letters which gave me: "Dokupai"

But then, I felt "Dokupai" was a little stupid sounding and so I decided to change it.

Like I said before, Poison can be said in japanese as either:

doku, dokubutsu, dokuyaku, gaidoku, poizun

But this time, instead of mixing acid with poison, I mixed poison with the color it is, which is usually green.

Green can be said in japanese as either:

ao, guri-n, midoriiro, namanamashii, aoi

So by mixing "gaidoku" and "namanamashii", I got Gaidokunamanamashii" But since it was too long, I cut it down a lot until I got a sastified result, "Gaidokushii"

It is the same for the other unit's names. Expect that it was created mixing other japanese words.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by sdG) on 2005-04-26 at 15:15:38
Oh well, I guess there is no perfect solution to that...

BTW, again, unless someone is Japanese, they are not gonna notice something funny with the words you are using. But since I have nothing better to do right now smile.gif

doku: poison
dokubutsu: something that is poisonous
dokuyaku: medicine, or substance that is poisonous
gaidoku: [gai = harm, doku = poision, well poison is usally harmful anyway lol..]
poizun: poison smile.gif

sui: ok.... maybe if you use with other words it might mean acid,, but i don't think so -_-, this prolly is chemistry specific term.
suppai: lol, so this is where you got pai from... well suppai does not mean acid, it means tastes "sour"
san: yes, it means acid

dokusuppai is very very funny sounding word if you are Japanese, can't really explain it well, but it sound funny and it literally mean "poison is sour"

ao: well, this is actually Blue, only time this means green is on special cases, such as on green apples, or the traffic light's green. Normally green is "midori"
guri-n: yup just like english.
midoriiro: midori = green, iro = color, midoriiro is absolutely fine, but simply "midori" is usually used when you mix with other words.
namanamashii: lmao!... this means like... molddy.. eww...yuck!. I think it could mean green in some sentense...(i doubt it though). However, if you just want to say green, avoid this at all cost biggrin.gif
aoi: ao is noun, aoi is adjective, but this always mean blue. for example:
ao ringo wa midori desu.
green apple is green
you do not say green apple is blue biggrin.gif, but do note that green apple is called ao (blue) apple in japan.

GOOD JOB LOL!! Gaidokushi, not Gaidokushii (double i) would make great sense, it means a person who controls poison, kinda like poison mage tongue.gif
however, if you kept Gaidokunamanamashii, that would being VERY VERY funny biggrin.gif
because it means the bad guys's name would mean harmful-poison-eww-yucky!!

Anyway... You did very good job of researching Japanese biggrin.gif , but you obviously did not seek help from actual Japanese person. I'm happy to help you anytime if you need me to translate something in/from Japanese smile.gif

I got nothing better to do in this computer programming course anyway mellow.gif

That's where I got all the japanese words from.

Okay guys, I'll be going now. I'll be able to come online though to answer any of your questions, etc. since my Grandma house has a computer. But then, it dosen't have SC and I lost my CD-Key which is why map production will cease for a while.

So is the map production finnished?
If it is, then is it only for broodwar?

Sorry for late reply. I was admitted into hospital(Suspicion of Mesenteric Adenitis) which turned out to be just germ infection >.>

Anyway, map production is NOT yet finished. And yes, it's only for broodwar.

P.S. I'm back at home now. I could've resumed production of the map but doctor advised me to rest for about 2-3 days. So well... you guys should know it. Map production paused for another 2 days.

You know what ShadowWarrior I think that your right about that.

Anyways have you progressed anymore on your map?

Well, I think I'll release my demo when I'm at about 10% of the map in case I might make some changes to the map like... changes in the story, etc.

Alright! Sweetness! How far are you right now on your map?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by ShadowWarrior on 2005-05-09 at 01:32:21
About 6% maybe. No one online whenever I was ready to test so I had to change triggers to affect the first player, test it and then change triggers back to affect what it was supposed to. If you get what I mean...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by slayer766 on 2005-05-09 at 10:52:43
Yes I have some of those complications too. There needs to be lot's of testing to get your map to work the way you want it to.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by ShadowWarrior on 2005-05-09 at 11:15:47
Almost got the triggers for the 5 areas done. After that, I will continue with terrain. Yeah I know... it's better to finish up terrain first. But I planned to release the demo then. So since I started on the triggers, I decided to finish up all the triggers I would be able to do so far.
