Story

The story will unfold as you play the game, such as why Yowakushima, a samurai who specialises in using sounds(e.g, misleading you by making animal sounds, etc.) is the arch enemy of Kagenkaku, a samurai who specialises in shadow and illusion.

I won't be posting anything about the story. I rather let you find out yourself.

But on second thoughts, I'll post how you start off.

You'll start off in a prison, there'll be a cut-scene at the start of the game. After the cut-scene, you would have to get your weapon(It's in a weapon rack in the prison) which you'll be using to kill the guards.


Heres the introduction of the story. This passage is the thoughts of Kagenkaku, just to let you now.

Hours later…

“My eyes opened slowly… I looked around. There were skeletons
and bones all over the ground, including corpses. I was in a prison…”

”I heard footsteps walking towards my cell. Two people were walking
towards me… No, it was three people, not two.”

”Two prison guards and my arch enemy, Yowakushima, walked in.”

Yowakushima said to me: ”You are weak, Kagenkaku. Did you think you
could defeat me? Challenge me again when you’re stronger
if you can get out of here… alive.”

”I pondered over what he said… ‘If you can get out of here… alive’.
What did he mean by that? Was it just to scare me? Or were there
lots of guards and traps in this place? Also, Yowakushima was right… I was
weak… I did not really care about that. All I want to do now, is to
escape from this filthy prison…”



Characters

I'll only post minor information. Like i said in the story section, I rather let you find out yourself  wink.gif

Kagenkaku
Main Character
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Element: Shadow & Illusion
Bio: Kagenkaku looks like the previous King of Samurai. Why does he looks like the previous King of Samurai? No one knows. In fact, no one knows anything about his background.


Kakisoku
Sub-Character
Gender: Male
Age: 21
Element: Fire
Specialization: Speed
Bio: Kakisoku was raised by a fire samurai who treated him like his own son. Kakisoku also treated him like his father. But when Yowakushima killed the fire samurai, Kakisoku vowed to take revenge. And since Kagenkaku and himself wants to kill Yowakushima, they became friends.


Raikouki
Sub-Character
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Element: Lightning & Air
Bio: Raised in the Emerarudo Mauntenishi Mountains, Raikouki had learnt the arts of lightning and air powers. Once, when Raikouki was out searching for food, he was almost killed. Kagenkaku was the one who saved him. Therefore, Raikouki joined Kagenkaku.


Kougogyou
Sub-Character
Gender: Male
Age: 31
Element: Earth & Water
Bio: Kougogyou was raised in a island where earth and water samurais lived. After he had learnt the arts of earth and water powers, he ate greedily and therefore became fat. However, he is still strong. And why did he join Kagenkaku? Yowakushima was the old friend of his and Kougogyou wants to stop the now corrupted Yowakushima.


Gaidokushii
Sub-Character
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Element: Poison & Acid
Bio: Having grown up eating snakes, scorpians and such, Gaidokushii has a strong resistance against poison. Also, as he growed up, he learnt how to use poison and acid powers. His father, another poison & acid samurai, was another old friend of Yowakushima. Gaidokushii's father died trying to stop Yowakushima's corrupted ways. Therefore, Gaidokushii vowed to put a stop to Yowakushima's corrupted ways for his father.

I would also appreciate Items/Spells/Skills suggestions since I haven't thought of spells/skills and items...

Edit

Thought of something for the touch-n-battle system.

Instead of having the unit's unit moving around, I will have cloaked units moving around. Each representing different level of units. For example:

Lion: Level 1
Tiger: Level 1
Bear: Level 2
Guard Patrol: Level 3

Whatever cloaked unit: Level 1-3 units

Whenever you encounter the cloaked unit which represents the level 1-3 units, a random level 1-3 unit will be picked to be your enemy in the battlefield. In other words, sometimes, you will encounter lions, sometimes tigers, and so on.

Something like that. Of course you can't see the cloaked unit.

Dokupai was once lost in a place with his father. There was no food expect scorpians, snakes, etc. moving about. Therefore, they had no choice but to eat those creatures, cooked. And since his father was a poison/acid samurai, he had antidotes to cure them of poisons should they get poisoned by the creatures. Hope that clear things up.




Also, I might consider posting the story, but not all. I'll post parts of them, the main points.

You may want to stick with isometrical terrain as opposed to mosaic terrain—until you get a bit more practice with it, at least.

Maybe I'll use some other method. There'll be a 1x1 location following you. Everytime you walk out of it, one counter will be added. When 15-30 counter(Randomized triggers) is added, you'll enter a random battle with random units. For example in the prison, Makairikujou Hitoya, there will be guards, firebats and marines. Using randomized triggers again, sometimes you'll fight firebats, sometimes marines.

Yea, I guess that explaination will do... I'm not really good at explaining blushing.gif

By the way, I saw this idea in TheOddAngel's Eternal Darkness thread and therefore, I thought that this would be a better battle system than the cloaked units ones.

Yay, I'm glad you decided to use that idea. You don't need to give me any credit for the idea(i didn't even invent it). But i am glad someone thought to use it based on one of my posts biggrin.gif .

As for your thread, just a few things to say...
1)Ae]fortune, this is like the 8th time i've seen you give criticism in such a rude way to someone, you should find a way to say your thoughts a little more tranquil like?Know what im saying?

2)Don't start spoiling the map by telling confused people the story( tongue.gif ). Maybe add in your top post some info on the introduction to the map(the way it will start) and then that'll be enough until people play a demo.

3)I really like your creative names, they're actually japanese, tho i cant even pronounce most of them. I hope you make some really intresting evil guy names.

I made thosenames by mixing some words. For example Dokupai was made by mixing the japanese name of "acid" and "poison" and then making a few changes.

Currently working on my school project as fast as I can so I can work on my map. If I work all day, I should be able to finish the school project... fastest... 4 days. Slowest probaly 1 week. Well, I just hope there won't be too much homework or I would have less time to work on my school project... sad.gif

Woot, good news. Because my school project was a group one... There was a new person who haven't done much since he joined my group. Therefore, my group(and me of course) discussed about it and we decided that we should let the new person do the rest of the work. That new guy agreed so in another words, I can work on my project now.

By the way, any of you have any ideas for spells/special abilities or items? I would appreciate if any of you do.
