It is an intruiging question, but shouldn't this be in the garbage forum instead?
(Not exactly a "serious" discussion is it?)
Well im sure by now many moderators would've read this by now. And since none of them did anything about it, i think they think it's fine the way it is.
Meh.. I guess so.

Anyways, it's sorta sad I have nothing to input since everyone's now just repeating themselves about the fluid inside your knuckles.

no the popping noise that you hear when you "crack" your knuckels is the realease of gas or air beetween your joints, it isn't bad or harmless
Then i guess it just depends on the natural structure of your bones. If you have weak or suseptable bones, then u might have higher chance of arthritis.
Arthritis = Genetic
'nuff said.
Arthritis isn't entirely genetic.
(i recently saw a sci. project on this)
Cracking your joints will increase the risk of arthritis. Every time you crack your joint gas is released and the body adds calcium (bone matter) to the joints little by little you will eventually get stiffness in your hands, therefore making it more painful to move.
They have proven that popping your knuckles is harmless, except for the annoyance of others around you.
Arthritis is "inflamation of the joints", caused mostly by genetics.
I pop my knuckles and there not stiff.
Also does that mean everytime your sitting there, then you move and the joint pops that that joint is going to have an increased chance of arthritis? I think not. I can just make fist with my left hand it will pop all 4 knuckles. (If I move one at a time I can only get index and middle to pop).
Popping usually happens because you havn't been moving for a while, so the fluids and etc. settle in the joints, then when you move it moves back up really fast. Other "popping" is jsut your joints rubbing together.
Well, the internet is A BAG OF LIIIIIEESSS! We need a real source, like a book or something. Becuz u guys are just searching 'Cracking knuckles' in google and copying one of the sites...
Well, the Internet does have some sites written by actual medics, you know. It isn't all lies.
actually, I did not get it from internet. I got it from a bunch of people that researched it, asked peofessionals, etc. They all said no.
and this:
QUOTE
The only damage it does is the annoyance of others
(close enough)
is an actual quote of a professional.. whoever studies this kinda stuff.
I was under the impression that cracking knuckles might weaken joints.
ALl i know is that it might distort the joint structures. Once you pop, the fun dont stop.
Of course you can pop your knuckles a lot and you won't feel stiffness, because it adds up so very slowly, it could harm your joints, but it might not, it just depends on how much, how often, how loud, etc.
I thought it was cartilage between your fingers and when u have arthritis, it's not bone, cartillage, and bone. It's bona and bone, like a rusty gate. That's wut my teacher said....
Yea it is bone and bone. That would hurt... alot
