Treating animals bad is just wrong... If I ever see anyone at any time attack any one of my pets, I will shoot them, they censored.gif deserve it... I hate rednecks and inbreds who just shoot down anything they want, and don't even use the body they killed, just killing animals for fun is plain wrong and vial... I don't agree with PETA, they are pretty strange... But killing for no absolute reason is sick.

I think P.E.T.A. - the organization - is stupid. I have 2 cats and love animals, but I understand the need to kill one as a food source. Humans are meant to be carnivores. But when P.E.T.A. comes in and tries to tell people not to spade their pets or eat animals, it just screws with the food chain and nature itself. If we have overpopulation of pets in the world and a huge death toll of malnourished human beings, then where is the sense in that? I think its okay to eat animals, bu I disagree with beating them senselessly.

Also the A.L.F. is stupid as well. What good does blowing up a slaughter farm do? It causes more destruction than there needs to be. "Drastic measures" don't have to lead to the loss of more life.

Oh and if you guys have Showtime, I suggest you watch the show "Penn & Teller: Bullshit." They did a great episode on the bullshit of P.E.T.A.

PETA says save animals, but they use violence to solve it laugh.gif Animal abuse is wrong, but PETA is more wrong...

The Penn & Teller episode is why I posted on here about P.E.T.A. lol...

Well, anyways. I read those websites by TH that he posted. VERY FUNNY! Although a lot of the people that posted about P.E.T.A. on his site are dumb...

Ah, the hypocrisy of veganism reveals itself. happy.gif

And yes, humans are natural omnivores; we need BOTH meat and plant matter to survive. If you sacrifice one or the other, you're not gonna be well off in terms of health.

We need both substances to live, but I think "Some" people eat too much, and waste resources... We should be conservent...

Haha well I sure do get my protein. I actually don't eat that often so it kinda balances out. WhenI eat my veges its either peas or brocolli. And by "meat" I was more refering to just chicken and the occasional steak.

Come to think of it, I don't actually eat that much meat or vegetables. Ah whatever, at least I'm not anorexic.

That is the same for me, I rarely eat at all.

I find that the only vegetable I have respect for is the potato. They just... kick ass. Anyways... the only things we shouldn't kill are Wolves, Tigers, Sharks, Komodo Dragons, and big ass snakes. Everything else sucks, screw them, eat that censored.gif ing Koala Bear.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by PwnPirate on 2005-05-21 at 22:50:33
Pretty soon we will have an organization to stop the farming of plants, plants are alive also. Plants are important to the environment and not eating them, or animals, will solve everything. In fact, humans don't count as animals just because they turned out to be the best animals. So we stop eating, there's always water. Wait no water will be banned, it is dangerous and kills millions of people a year, millions of people who eat plants and animals. Every organization that tries to ban things that are convenient for the human race is hypocrite.

I got 2 P.E.T.A. kids at my school. They're really condescending, like really condescending. Like.....REALLY CONDESCENDING. Idiots try to argue with the rednecks on animal rights.
A- You think they give a shit?
B- Even if you WERE right, who said they were gonna agree with you?

Anyways, back on topic:

This is going to sound really Facist, and it's not the only criteria, just one of them:
I have the right to say animals have no rights, because I can kick a dog, shoot a bear, and karate chop an elephant.

Now if you go around hurting animals JUST for fun (Except hunting, which is stupid, unless you hunt the bear with just a bow and arrow. Then I can go, bad ass. Otherwise, you're just another dumbass trying to prove your man hood by having a premptive strike on a deer about 50-100 yards away), you need help. You apparently have some social issues.

I believe that organzitions like P.E.T.A. are a total crock-o-shit... They are way to extreme and are very hostile. Although, I do agree to what they are fighting for. There are many sick people out there that treat animals so badly, it's just disgusting. There are many videos at www.petatv.com (I think that is the right address) and look for videos. I just want to know if other people feel the same way I do about how P.E.T.A. is WAY too extreme in their acts against animal cruelty...

thats really stupid to say, p.e.t.a is a good thing, animals are living things just like us, how would you like it if some one went up to you and hit you with a baseball bat and ate you? i dont think you would like it.I can understand killing animals in self defence and to eat (steak etc..) but killing animals w/o a reason is plane censored.gif ed up

Animals are not intellgent life. They can not use abstract words like we do. Call me arrogant for saying that our species are just smart enough to cross the line into intelligent life. (When was the last time you saw a group of animals argue about god?) Now I can see you saying, "if somebody is retarded, would u shoot them and eat them because they're not SMART enough?" No, because there's another thing to it.

You see, a majority of humans are intelligent life forms. Not all, but most are WAY beyond any animal alive today. And to shoot a retard for just being a retard, would down right be 100% politically incorrect. Where as if u shot a wolf for just being a wolf, I doubt it'll be anywhere near as close when it comes to the scale of politically incorrectism. Remember, we make the morals. (Unless you get religious, then god makes them) I don't want to go through a list on why we're beyond superior than any animal intelligence wise.

Now, if aliens came over and they saw us being lower than them, I doubt they would kill us for being ignorant. Cause we would be able to understand and learn from them. Like,
philosophy wise. Animals have like no philosophy what so ever. They can not understand, even if u spoke in their language, about politics. Or supply and demand. Or even multiplication. (Unless u find some extremely smart ape or something) There might be maybe 5 diff kinds of animals that could come close to us kinda sorta. Like us to aliens. (Considering aliens are ultra enlightened) Like dolphins for example, they're pretty close to us. (Then again, they're still really censored.gif ing far away, and I don't remember the intellgence of 6-8 year old kids being that high when it came to philosophy, or almost any subject for that matter)
Report, edit, etc...Posted by DevliN on 2005-05-27 at 14:17:02
Zombie, I agree with pretty much everything you said except you gotta remember one thing: P.E.T.A. thinks any means of hurting/killing an animal is wrong. And they go to the extent of hurting/killing other humans to stop it (ALF for example).

I actually think dolphins have been proven to be smater than humans. They may not speak like we do, but so what? All we're really doing is putting sounds together. And all the things you listed that animals wouldn't understand are man-made. If a dolphin concocted some advanced philosophy and told you about it, chances are you wouldn't understand it either. We can't teach animals with our education, so you can't automatically assume that we're smarter. Take a completely uneducated person and have them swim all day every day until they are 18, and then have them do the same tasks as a dolphin. Only then would you be able to call a dolphin less intelligent than us. Otherwise you're just assuming that because we are educated that we surpass all animals.

Also I'm glad you brought up age. Talk to a 5 year old about Nietszche's ideas. Obviously age and education has to do with understanding as well.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Loser_Musician on 2005-05-27 at 14:26:23
Proven to be smarter than us? Huh?

I see what you're trying to say, is that we only think we're intelligent, because we can put sounds together a certain way. But you see, I can walk into a forgein country (Or even a foreign planet for that matter), in within just 1 or 2 years I can understand at least half the shit they're saying. I doubt dolphins can do that.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Rantent on 2005-05-27 at 17:47:27
Our ability to communicate has been said to be the source of our knowledge. There exsist, or have exsisted animals that were smarter, or should have been by their anatomy. Neandrathals, for instance had bigger brains, and more capacity for learning, they were also bigger, and more powerfull than us. The only flaw they seemed to have was undeveloped vocal chords. Basically they were unable to communicate as thoroughly as we are. This might give some insight as to how much communication affects our veiw of collective knowledge.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Loser_Musician on 2005-05-27 at 17:52:41
Well, don't we only use 10% of our brain in the 1st place? (Some estimation some guy made. Might be pure bullshit) So what if the size matters, it's how it works. (I just sounded like one those guys that compensate little things for big things. Know what I'm saying?) Kinda like triggers. You can create a 2.5 billion diff outcome pw system with 2.5 billion trigs, or you can just do it with about 500 trigs.

Intelligent life is an opinion, I could say that monkeys are pretty smart, so they are intelligent.
QUOTE

Because, first of all, if you spoke in their (What you call) Language, they wouldn't have the "words" in their vocabulary. Humans made up math and politics, understand? Ex. Aliens have a totally different system of life, you ask them what "breakfast" means in their language, and they wouldn't know, because they don't eat "breakfast", they eat at different schedules.
QUOTE

Note that politics was a concept made up by humans.
Side note: many species have a system similar to politics.

First of all, No
Second of all, dolphins can't talk (not because they are stupid, which I know you would have said, but because they can't produce the sounds,)
Third of all, you understand the concept of language, language being yet another thing that humans made up. Ex.2 You create a video game and if someone doesn't understand how to play it they are very stupid.
QUOTE

(Why the hell would you think that animals know who god is?)

You basically proven to me that we're superior intelligence wise. Cause look, we've created all that stuff. And I'm pretty sure we're gonna create even more. What have animals created? Not a damn thing. So all I got to do now, is just find a site that shows the estimated I.Q. of animals according to psychologists and/or scientists.

As for that alien thing, I said 1-2 to years. And you used that video game example which isn't good at all, cause you forgot one part to the formula. Time. You just left in as if the person just started to play it, instead of having 1 to 2 years to play it.

BTW - We didn't create math, we just discovered it. The way we communicate with it, THAT'S what we created.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Wilhelm on 2005-05-28 at 13:21:37
You know why we should be able to eat animals? Because WE CAN. Durrrrrr. If any of you haven't realized it by now, your overly moral debate here is entirely a waste of time. There is no need to wonder if it's wrong or not to eat something entirely unaware of it's own existence. Essentially, we're all, to some extent, big collections of cells, a bunch of nutrients. So screw them, eat them. We should, (as the smartest species on our planet), atleast have some moderation, if you eat everything now, what's going to be there tommorrow? Dolphins are supposed smarter then the average human, by the way, that's not much, glad my IQ is over 100. But remember, humans have the capacity to work togetehr in groups to solve a goal that one alone wouldn't be able to, ones that require individual skills as opposed to just the size of the pack.

That was true (About 2000 years ago). Now, if we just eat them, there will be so many problems sprouting up that we would all die out.
Morals aren't there to make people do good things, morals are there to keep them from doing stupid things. People have gotten so stupid that morals don't work as well anymore. (*Cough* Americans *Cough* wink.gif )
QUOTE

I'm sure that we WONT create more, I'm pretty sure that math, politics, everything else required a very, very, very, large group of people. I'm pretty sure we don't have any new systems. I'm pretty sure we have been keeping the old ones for over 2000 years. I'm pretty sure dolphins cannot communicate as well because, well... (They don't have human voices). I'm pretty sure that you shouldn't try to represent the human race. Because you are a bad example. wink.gif
