Ok look, I only suggested renaming it on account of the term being technically inaccurate. But since it is also really a garbage forum anyway (in addition to non-garbage plain off-topic posts), and since splitting the forum to try to accomodate the two types has shown to be impractical, I'm not against renaming it back to garbage again, if it's the name everyone is used to.

The Off Topic forum should be renamed back to Anything Goes (Garbage). Many of us are used to it being the Garbage forum. That, plus it's a garbage forum anyway, as Tux mentioned earlier.

I agree. When I see topics in that forum I hate, it feels good to know they're labeled under the Garbage forum. Screw sensitivity (jk), nobody's going to be hurt they posted in a forum called garbage because it had nothing to do with the rest of the site. Plus, that garbage can is now eerily disterbing.

I would post some examples of REAL garbage forums on other boards, to show you all what I mean by comparison. But I don't think it would be a good idea to have a garbage forum like those on this boards, because of all the younger viewers here.
Actually, I like just plain Anything Goes best, without the '(garbage)' part. Don't really care though, either way.

I agree with Tux, despite what I said above. Garbage also discourages people a little from posting in it, I think. A name like "Anything goes" or "Off topic" is more neutral and can incorporate a broader range of things.
Like other forums, for example TA, use All things SC as their main SC discussion forum and All things NOT SC as their 'anything goes' forum.
