QUOTE
However, the fact that we bombed two of thier cities in succesion, before even waiting to see if they would surrendor after the first bombing, strikes me as rather barbaric.

We did wait, 3 days and they didn't surrender so we bombed them again. They didn't believe we had more of those bombs.

I don't know if it was right or wrong to drop the big ones, but I do know this, it ended a long and bloody war.

@ PsychoTemplar.

About those quotes, Albert Einstein was one of the most importannt people behind the creation of the bombs. His quotes relate to how the next World Wars are going to be. The next one will be with Nuclear Warheads, then the next war, we'll be back to the stone age. Also, Albert Einstein believed it was impossible to split an atom. When he successfully split one, he thought that he just helped bring the world to an end. It may not happen for the next 100 years, but, he is right. The stupidity of humans will destroy the world.

Oh, I'm stupid. Sorry Jake, thanks for clearing that up.

If intelligence was heaven, Einstein would be God.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Forsaken on 2005-06-20 at 01:21:05
That would be so cool.

Although, I do not know much about him. He is awsome. He was WAY ahead of his time it's not even funny. If he was considered God. I would follow that religion. lol...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Ultimo on 2005-06-20 at 01:22:48
I wouldn't. I would of assissinated him. Anyways, the war wasn't justified in the first place. :/

Ultimo, could you move two steps to the left, right on that x yes. *pushes button

The War wasn't justified? What kind of bull shit is that? Are you saying we should have let the Nazis take over the world? The stuff some people post here is enough to make me want to cry =/
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Ultimo on 2005-06-20 at 01:30:23
Let me rephrase that. The Holocaust wasn't justified. But I'm sure you already knew that. Do two wrongs really make a right? I suppose it does in this case. Living under the Nazi's wouldn't of been that bad wink.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Chef on 2005-06-20 at 01:38:29
That's not funny.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kashmir on 2005-06-20 at 02:06:19
Ya especially to a guy whose grandfather died at omaha just so you can say "it wouldn't be that bad to live under them". ya if you consider being gassed, cremated, starved, given diseases, and just plain being shot in packs of dozens not bad then maybe.

No direct insults. You may disagree, but nobody is stupid. We all have our seperate opinions. Thank you.

Guess he was wrong, some people are stupid.

Um, excuss me but uh, Robert Oppinheimer was the one that actually came up with the Atomic Bomb. He just worked with Einstein to make the first one.

Then when he saw the massive destruction it caused, he killed himself. (Did a report on him in freshman science class 3 years ago)

Mind sending it over to me if you still have it? Or pointing me to one of your main sources (hopefully on the internet). It sounds interesting.

Just search the net for Robert Oppinheimer (If that's how you spell it) My advice is to use Google, cause it is just so...... Googalisious smile.gif

You just reminded me of something that ima make a thread about.... Thanks! smile.gif

Jake, stop spamming
from posts on the first page
Yes, I know you explained it later, but you should've done it on your first post.

ADDITION:
QUOTE(DevliN_ @ Jun 19 2005, 03:05 PM)
The Japanese are smart. They should of seen it coming.

"We'll piss off one of the strongest military forces of the world by attacking Pearl Harbor, and let's not expect any reprecussions to that attack. I mean, the U.S is stupid."

They did see it coming; America gave them warning, they did not heed it.

one of those japanese generals told the others saying that they must be prudent and expedient in their tactics so that they will not wake the "sleeping giant" (aka the United States of America).

They failed... miserably happy.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Chef on 2005-06-20 at 13:00:13
Do you seriously think that's funny? Do you even know what you're talking about? Disgusting.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by MillenniumArmy on 2005-06-20 at 13:29:58
Did i say it was funny? This smiley: happy.gif doesn't necessarily mean something is funny. More like saying it's sad in a satirical way.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Chef on 2005-06-20 at 15:07:23
Maybe I should go up to a black guy, call him my censored.gif with a wicked grin and see what happens eh? To me what you did was that same thing, dolt.

Why don't you stop flaming, pyscho?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Wilhelm on 2005-06-20 at 19:24:17
I think it's somewhat called for, Millnenium's post is objectionable at best. However, keep that to PM, or leave out "dolt". [sarcasm]Someone might get offended!!! [/sarcasm]
Report, edit, etc...Posted by MapUnprotector on 2005-06-20 at 19:27:37
I think it was the smiley that just made it a little offensive, and took away from some of the meaning. Without it I wouldn't really object with what he said because it could actually be true. But I don't see anything funny with it them failling miserably either. Then again Mill did say the smiley didn't mean for it to be funny, so I think it's just a misunderstanding. Personally, I would have used closedeyes.gif instead.

@ultimo: maybe....

in response to the post about if we were in an economical depression. Yes we were, it was the Great Depression. The country was on its knees and we were denying japan oil because of their aggressiveness in the pacific theatre. So they attacked pearl harbor thinking "Their army is in bad chape, we can destroy their pacific fleet, so they'll give us oil," but in 1941 when they attacked, we did the Doolittle raid which sent a small fleet escorting an aircraft carrier to the sea of japan and lauched bombers from the deck of the aircraft carrier. It was to send the message that the United States will not back down, and will fighttoe to toe with them.

lol enough of the history lesson for today.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Ultimo on 2005-06-20 at 21:26:54
The Japanese should of attacked China instead. I mean, China doesn't have any allies.
