That is true... To an extent.
You have to pay the government taxes because you own your land, and you own/built your house. Isn't that stupid?
That's what Property Taxes are. And those are just a way to steal even more money from you.
But take for example, what Utah has done with their hiway from the boarder to Richmond.
Every house that was in the way of the road system, they paid them the actual market price for how much land they needed from them.
Soooo. I don't see that as a problem. But them just comming in and taking it? That's *ucked up.

They give you market value. It's just like selling it. Not to mention that 99% of the time you don't even fully own the house because you're still paying off mortgage. Like I've been saying. No shit it's your house, but the government has the power to come in and buy it from you.

But sometimes they are FORCING you to sell it, it would be like me wanting the bike you have but you need it and don't want to sell it, but then I say Oh I'll pay you what it's worth so therefore you must sell it to me.

I think what Devilesk is trying to say is that the government will bug the heck out of you and make your life miserable until you sell it.
Oh, and timmy, somehow you're assuming that you'll be able to find a house for sale in your hometown. Also, you appear to have that slightly smug attitude that "everything can be bought".
