Hmm... I think taking devilesk. out of it would make it perfect tongue.gif

That alone wouldn't make the world perfect, but it sure as hell would be a terrific start (this isn't a flame... merely a joke, don't warn me for this, like I get warned for everything else minor)

Warhamma, you can just stop beating around the bush and say global Communism. That is perfect in theory, but it won't work in real life.

3.People would be executed at 40 years of age

What if the person had exceptional intelligence, and were able to greatly advance technology, given more time? There are so many moral flaws with what you're saying, but that's the most demanding.

Communism is perfect in theory and writting, and WOULD be perfect if you didn't get corrupt people in power. But most people who get power, become corrupt, thus making Communism, faulty

The perfect world is one where any desire, whim, any feeling or state is accomplishable by thought. You would have to live in your own thoughts, as to not make others unhappy, thusly, the perfect world is a dream, and there is none, then. Besides, all pleasures would be self predicted and therby, not exciting. There's no way to have a perfect world, if everything is always great, then how do you know it's great? Without conflict, there is no peace, sadness defines happiness, etc, etc.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Snake)Ling on 2005-07-02 at 06:15:26
There is no such thing as a perfect world, because the wants of one person are always going to be the loathes of another person.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Tuxedo Templar on 2005-07-02 at 06:35:34
A perfect world implies perfect uniformity. The only way for that to be possible is without entropy or uneveness in any form... including even matter itself. Therefore, a perfect world is one that doesn't exist (literally).
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Shapechanger on 2005-07-02 at 09:22:08
I'm not quite sure that you can please everybody with the same world, thus I agree that the perfect world would be some sort of dream different for each individual. Yet the perfect world still can't be perfect because if you never experience pain you take pleasure for granted. I think that we would need to live a whole life full of pain, pleasure, etc. before entering the dream state, but even then... There just always seems to be flaws...

My perfect world would be where anything I want becomes reality. One thing I figured out is if you were to have control over your memories, then happiness would be a bit overeasy to obtain. Just by erasing the memory of, say, riding a roller coaster, then riding it again and experiencing that pleasure exactly the same over again. It makes me feel as if happiness is an illusion, which brings me to the meaning of life since humans naturally try to be happy, and if it's just an illusion...

But that's for another topic

Plus, this topic more developed into a 'your perfect world sucks' topic more than a perfect world discussion... If somebody thinks that's how it should work, leave them alone. They deserve their own opinions, even if they're not logical or anything...

My perfect world would be...

1) Have all the food you want
2) Have all the beautiful women you want
3) Stay young forever (well not really, but stay young long)
4) World peace
5) Starcraft 2

What lies? And you wont be drafted, at least by Bush. You may, by some Dem, but not Bush.

The thing is, if you eat well, you're not anerexic. A society of obsese people would be just as bad as an anerexic one.
You need to look up the defintion of Anerexia.

Sorry, I know what anorexia exactly is now. Before, my definition of it was "eating little, but not to necessary to the point of malnutrition" instead of "we all starve to death". Because I don't think a world that everyone is starving would be "perfect" by any stretch of imagination.

And eating well does not mean obese. It means that you have enough to stay healthy, as in nobody is malnutritioned.

Don't patronise people, it pisses them off.

If the perfect world to you is the extinction of all spontenatity and even living things, (for those of you a little slow, I am being sarcastic.... nnnnow) maybe you should go organise some mass suicide. The perfect world to some people, may include emotion, especially feeling worthful, but still including hate. It doesn't neccessarilly mean to everyone, no dying, no feeling sad, no anything. So yeah ummm, opinions start with "I think" or it's a statement of fact.

My perfect world (that implies "I think", smartass) would still include hate, however, being knowledgable of the concequences, it would never reach a level involving extreme physical violence.

I guess your argument is that we're always making good of a bad things, so if those bad things didn't exist neither would good things (the fact that we're seperate countries, brings us the olympics, which instills national pride). Which is true, but I want to be in my perfect world.

Yes. But in some countries it is mandatory to go to the military for men unless you pay your way out. Plus when theres a big war the government will start drafting no matter what.

Anyways heres my definition of a perfect world.
1) You would get a 12 pack by doing 1 crunch
2) Pseudocode would be an actual computer language.
3) Everything is given to you for free.
4) You can do whatever you want except hurt other people.
5) You still have to go to school.

i would change 5 to It's optional to go to school 180 days but its required your go 130 days smile.gif

Matureity meter dropping in this topic.
I would say, in my opinion, a perfect world would be one with a powerful natural structure. Humans broke the existing one too easily. And a better adaptational system, so animals would adapt along with humans. Maybe no humans at all.. think about it. Clean air, perfect structure. Everything is our fault. Anyone who denies it is naive. Maybe not a perfect world, but its close. If humans have to exist... then as we are it can't be a perfect world. Human nature is a constant, and will keep it from being perfect.

My perfect world:

In my world, the whole earth is rearranged. Land is broken in equal spots across the surface and water between them so everyone has equal food and water. Everyone is athiest, causing no religous wars. The main thing that ruins our society though, is hate. In my world, there would be no countries wanting power, nobody that just "doesn't care". And the main thing that is active is: EQUALITY.

EDIT: Everyone gets equal education and everyone supports their society equally. If someone decides to be lazy and not work, they don't eat that day.

Yeah, and there's still poor people. Lots dieing from starvation. Many kids have no education and no idea what they're going to do with their lives. A few countries still wanting power. And the worst part! There's gonna be fights about who's chicks are hotter happy.gif... What if the women rebel confused.gif blink.gif Man you got me thinking. I like your world though, it'd be great if it was a really small one, you know like only 500 guys, 1500 women.

Very nicely put! clapping.gif

We all have different beliefs, and I know all of you know what snake meant but I just wanna put up an example:

The whole world is happy:
To be happy, I want all of my friends to play starcraft.
Now lets say I am happy.
One of my friends hates video games, they are unhappy.
To get happy, they must stop playing starcraft.
This makes me, once again, unhappy.

ADDITION TO SNAKE'S POST:
You can please some of the people some of the time,
But you cannot please all the people, all the time.
